The transaction is expected to release $1.2 billion in capital that \u2062was previously committed under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/foreign-company-with-troubled-past-buys-into-massive-midwest-carbon-capture-project\/\" title=\"Foreign Company With Troubled Past Buys Into Massive Midwest Carbon Capture Project\">local regulatory requirements<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>Citi\u2019s institutional business in Taiwan \u200dwas excluded\u200b from the sale. <\/p>\n<p>Citi has signed sales\u200c agreements for consumer\u2064 units in nine markets and closed sales in\u2062 seven other \u200dmarkets in addition to Taiwan:\u200c Australia, Bahrain, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.
