Although Wallace must spend a minimum of 24 years behind bars, \u200ba judge\u200c expressed doubt that the murderer would\u200d ever see freedom again.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/2023\/08\/07\/uk-climate-activist-extinction-rebellion-stabs-fiance-death\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the\u2062 Telegraph<\/a>, Wallace was just one \u200dmonth away from completing a master\u2019s degree in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/walsh-media-says-capitol-riot-killed-five-people-the-truth-is-more-complicated\/\" title=\"WALSH: Media Says Capitol Riot Killed Five People. The Truth Is More Complicated.\">human rights law<\/a> at the University of Roehampton at the time of her sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>When not murdering people or pursuing a \u200claw degree, Wallace \u2064was active in the extremist environmental group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/co-founder-radical-eco-group-demands-vegan-meal-loses-sees-plate\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Extinction Rebellion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The narrative of Wallace\u2019s crime is as heinous as \u200dit is heartless.<\/p>\n<p>On July 18 of last year, Wallace and her fiance Samuel Mayo consumed heroin, cocaine, and cannabis and subsequently fell into an argument while at her London home. The\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/climate-activist-wanted-to-be-a-human-rights-lawyer-now-shell-likely-spend-the-rest-of-her-life-behind-bars\/\" title=\"Climate activist turned human rights lawyer faces lifetime imprisonment.\">pair eventually ended<\/a> up in front\u2063 of a local brewery.<\/p>\n<p>Wallace\u200d claimed Mayo drew a sharpened chopstick \u200dand threatened her with it, at which point \u2064she pulled \u200dthe\u200d knife.<\/p>\n<p>The stab delivered to Mayo was so powerful that it broke through his ribcage cartilage and\u2063 plunged into his heart. Witnesses said Mayo\u2019s \u2064final words were a loving plea to Wallace, \u200bwhich she <strong>heartlessly ignored<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Wallace initially\u200b failed to tell investigators about the chopstick in the aftermath of the \u200dmurder, and no \u2064such Asian eating implement was ever\u200c found at the scene. \u2062In \u200bcourt she further downplayed the crime, claiming she\u200b did not aim to stab the man and only pulled the knife as a \u201cdeterrent,\u201d the Telegraph reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was horrible,\u201d Wallace told the jury. \u201cI did not mean any impact, I meant to gesture for him to get back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wallace\u2019s defense crumbled in court and the jury returned a guilty \u2063verdict after less\u2064 than \u200dhalf a day of deliberations.<\/p>\n<p>The judge was similarly unconvinced with Wallace\u2019s story \u200band raked her over the coals for \u2064the brutal crime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn contrast to the people who tried to assist \u2063 [Mayo], you did\u2064 nothing and\u200b left the scene, allowing \u2062him to die and showing a complete lack of remorse that you had stabbed him in \u2063the chest,\u201d Judge Rajeev Shetty said.<\/p>\n<p>While Wallace must\u2062 spend at least 24 years of her sentence in prison, the judge noted \u2062that there is no guarantee she will be freed after that time.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2062addition to the \u200dmurder conviction, \u2063Wallace was also found guilty of an \u200doffensive weapons charge.
