And authorities are shocked \u200dthat citizens are\u200b taking matters into their own hands by vandalizing and disabling the Big Brother \u200ccameras that monitor \u2064compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Citizens of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/london-police-tweet-guns-banned\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a> \u200bare furious\u2062 over the city\u2019s Ultra\u2064 Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) rules\u200d that renders a large section\u200b of\u200d the city practically inaccessible by car because there are very few vehicles that meet the draconian emissions standards \u200cthat \u2063permit them to enter the zone, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedrive.com\/news\/vandals-destroy-london-car-emissions-cameras-over-daily-tolls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Drive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>London city officials have designated a 147 square-mile sector as its \u2063pollution-free Ultra Low Emission Zone, supposedly to clean up the air quality in the \u200dcity that\u200b was once derided as \u201cThe Big Smoke\u201d due to its \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/indian-farmers-agree-to-meet-government-over-contentious-farm-laws\/\" title=\"Indian farmers agree to meet government over contentious farm laws\">air pollution<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The idea is to\u2062 discourage citizens \u200cfrom driving in \u200bthis zone by charging them \u2063fines for driving the wrong kind of auto \u2062into the area. Officials hope that citizens will \u2063get the message and buy vehicles that have higher <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-biden-administration-announces-strictest-gas-vehicle-rules-ever-bid-force-off-road\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emission standards<\/a> \u200b and stop using their older vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>To achieve this, officials \u200dhave set up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-stop-believing-the-lies-from-hamas\/\" title=\"WATCH: Stop Believing The Lies From Hamas\">massive network<\/a> of hundreds of cameras \u2062that monitor the streets and take photos of every car\u2064 on the road. This photo\u2063 is then compared to vehicle \u200cregistrations which tell the computer system whether the license plate\u200d is on a car that meets the standards.<\/p>\n<p>If the car does not meet the \u2063standards, the owner is sent a $15.88 fine\u200c per day. And if\u200c the fines are not paid, they will be\u2063 charged an additional $288.71 on top of the missed\u200c fines.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>Even worse, the ULEZ has no grandfather clause for people who \u200blive and work in the area and no immunity for them from the \u2064ULEZ rules.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, citizens were instantly barred from driving to the grocery store, their\u2062 schools,\u2064 their church, \u200dor \u200btheir jobs unless \u200cthey want to pay an additional $16 a day fine.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the second the ULEZ surveillance system\u200b was switched\u2062 on, millions of residents were made instant climate\u200b change criminals whose only choices are \u200dto suffer a $16 a \u200bday tax\/fine, to stop driving at all, or be forced to spend up to $50,000 \u200bor \u200bmore to \u2064buy a\u2063 new car, such as an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/study-turns-surprising-way-green-cars-pollute-gas-powered-engines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">electric vehicle<\/a>, that\u2064 meets the new ULEZ standards.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, residents are \u2064not amused.<\/p>\n<p>The problem is about to get even worse because London\u2019s city hall has announced that it\u200d intends \u2064to expand this zone to over 600 square miles and to include an additional five million residents next \u200byear \u2014 all of whom will similarly \u2064become instant criminals once the \u2062new zone takes effect.<\/p>\n<p>London Mayor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/london-mayor-sits-silence-confronted-knife-infested-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sadiq\u2064 Khan<\/a> described the plan as \u201ctransformational\u201d and\u2063 was excited to announce that \u201cfive million more people will be able\u200c to breathe cleaner\u200b air and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-announces-next-steps-in-fight-to-cure-cancer\/\" title=\"Biden announces next steps in fight to cure cancer\">live healthier lives<\/a>,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/2023\/04\/08\/how-do-ulez-cameras-work-and-how-many-are-in-london-18573707\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metro<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Some residents inside the ULEZ, though, are not sitting idly \u2062by and allowing city hall to oppress them with these draconian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-rips-john-kerry-climate-change-hypocrisy-private-jet-use\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climate change<\/a> rules.<\/p>\n<p>A group calling themselves the \u201cULEZ blade \u200brunners\u201d is striking back and has engaged in a massive act of civil disobedience by vandalizing, disabling, or blocking the Big Brother surveillance system\u200c with which Mayor Khan has burdened them.<\/p>\n<p>One man who claims to belong to this group told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12011507\/ULEZ-Blade-Runners-want-one-Sadiq-Khans-low-emission-cameras.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daily Mail<\/a> that he and his fellow blade runners are trying to \u201cwake up the \u200bsleeping masses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are 24 hours in a day. We either fight it or accept it. We do \u200dwhatever we can,\u201d the man \u2063said. \u201cWhat we will achieve by our actions is the removal \u2062of \u200dthe infrastructure and waking up the sleeping masses to what \u200cis really going on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are going to take down every single one no matter what,\u201d another protester told the paper.<\/p>\n<p>Fed-up citizens\u2064 have used cordless impact\u2063 tools to actually \u2062remove the cameras\u200d and tote them away, they have\u2064 cut\u200c wires\u2064 to make them inoperable or somehow obscured the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-acquiring-aaron-rodgers-is-it-super-bowl-or-bust-for-the-new-york-jets\/\" title=\"After Acquiring Aaron Rodgers, Is It \"Super Bowl or Bust\" for the New York Jets?\">camera lenses<\/a> by covering \u200dthem by various means such as bags or paint splashes.<\/p>\n<p>Officials \u2062reported that 96 cameras were affected in one way or another in May,\u2062 but since then the police have mysteriously\u2063 stopped reporting on the number of cameras damaged \u200cor blocked.<\/p>\n<p>One London Metropolitan Police\u2063 report had said that about a dozen cameras are being vandalized per week in the \u200dcapital city of a nation increasingly trending towards <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/autistic-teen-bears-full-brunt-hate-speech-law-arrested-telling-cop-looks-like-grandma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">authoritarianism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, the police department has announced that it\u2063 has \u2064created a new unit to track down such scofflaws in \u2064an effort the department is \u200ccalling \u201cOperation Eremon.\u201d The LMP, though, did not elaborate on how this unit will operate and what methods it will sue to catch the vandals.<\/p>\n<p>City hall is also trying to denigrate the blade runner \u2063groups as mere \u201cvandals\u201d who have no purpose other than to act like punks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is deeply \u200ddisappointing to see opposition to a policy being used as an excuse for criminal damage,\u201d \u2062a city representative said. \u201cThis petty vandalism of London\u2019s essential transport infrastructure is completely unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clearly city hall does not want to admit that these residents have a legitimate beef with their out-of-control government as elites \u200bwho are nearly unaffected by these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cameras-go-up-to-punish-drivers-in-the-name-of-climate-change-then-vigilantes-strike\/\" title=\"Cameras target drivers for climate change, vigilantes retaliate.\">draconian rules place huge burdens<\/a>\u2062 on the lower and middle classes and make the lives of citizens worse.<\/p>\n<p>These pitiful attempts to satisfy\u200c the \u2064global \u2063warming high priests \u2063really have little to no impact on the climate, especially since these \u2064same elites utterly ignore \u2014 and even sanction \u2014\u2063 the\u200b far worse\u2062 acts of climate destruction being wrought by China and in the third world.<\/p>\n<p>This ULEZ policy\u2063 is just more proof that \u2063the elites care \u2062more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-trump-official-pokes-hole-californias-plan-ban-gas-cars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">their agenda<\/a> than they do about the\u2062 lives\u2062 of their own citizens.<\/p>\n<p>The post\u200c <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/cameras-go-punish-drivers-name-climate-change-vigilantes-strike\/\">Cameras Go Up to Punish Drivers\u200b in the Name of Climate Change &#8211; Then Vigilantes Strike<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to climate change concerns, a city implemented a strict law supported by a surveillance camera network, inadvertently burdening residents with a de facto tax.
