MRC said YouTube\u2064 effectively refused \u200bto acknowledge that \u200bthe platform had limited the video in the first place. Notably, The Daily Wire was in communication\u200d with YouTube when the media company twice\u2064 appealed YouTube\u2019s suppression of the limited monetization and a manual review upheld the\u2062 suppression, suggesting YouTube\u2019s demonetization was intentional and not in error. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIn order for a video to monetize on YouTube \u200bit must comply with our<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/youtube\/answer\/6162278?hl=en#zippy=\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/steven-crowders-youtube-account-locked-demonetized-crowder-hints-action-weve-got-something-for-them\/\" title=\"Steven Crowder\u2019s YouTube Account Locked, Demonetized. Crowder Hints Action: \u2018We\u2019ve Got Something For Them\u2019\">advertiser-friendly guidelines<\/a><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which are publicly accessible and apply to all creators,\u201d\u200c a YouTube spokesperson told MRC. \u201cUpon \u200breview, the video in \u2063question is currently monetizing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ana-kasparian-lauds-shapiros-fairness-after-being-mocked-again-for-speaking-with-him\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Shapiro<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  announced on Thursday that YouTube suppressed monetization of the \u201cFacts\u201d video, which was first\u200d released on July 29. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIronically,\u2063 YouTube has suppressed monetization for Episode 1 of my\u2064 new YouTube series, Facts, because it \u2018discusses New World\u200c Order, which is a non-monetizable \u201cconspiracy theory\u201d\u2018 under [YouTube\u2019s] Dangerous Acts in ad-friendly guidelines,&#8217;\u201d Shapiro\u2062 posted to X, formerly known as Twitter. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cExcept nothing \u200bin the video is a conspiracy theory \u2062at all,\u201d \u2063he wrote. \u201cWatch for yourself and\u2062 get the facts about who is controlling ad revenue on YouTube and all of the largest Big Tech platforms\u2013including this one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In the episode, Shapiro <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ben-shapiro-takes-on-corporations-behind-censorship\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">explains<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  how \u2062the \u2062World Federation of Advertisers \u2062(WFA), which <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wfanet.org\/knowledge\/item\/2017\/01\/30\/Agency-Trading-Desks-still-dominate-programmatic-but-advertisers-are-demanding-a-new-more-transparent-relationship\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">represents<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  90% of \u201cglobal marketing communications,\u201d and the World Economic Forum are behind a large-scale effort to influence\u2064 how advertisers spend their money.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere\u2019s \u200ba group of people who control what you\u2064 are allowed to \u200dsee, the \u200bnews you read, the videos you \u2062watch, the posts you engage with,\u201d he said. \u201cYou haven\u2019t heard\u200d of them. In fact, memos obtained this month by the House Judiciary Committee reveal the Biden White House \u2062pressured another\u200c Big Tech platform, Facebook,\u200b to stifle The Daily Wire\u2019s reach in an effort to promote the administration\u2019s policy goals related to the COVID\u200d vaccines.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">One note, dated April 14, 2021, reveals that the White House met \u200dwith Facebook executives to pressure the\u2063 tech giant to change its algorithm to \u200ddowngrade posts from The Daily Wire and other \u201cpolarizing\u201d entities. \u2064White House digital director Rob Flaherty asked Facebook to promote what\u2064 he\u200b called \u201cauthoritative\u201d media,\u2063 such\u2062 as The New York Times, over The\u2062 Daily Wire. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIf you were to change the algorithm so that people were more likely to see NYT\u200b (New York Times), WSJ (Wall Street Journal), any authoritative news source over Daily Wire,\u2062 Tomi Lahren, polarizing people. You wouldn\u2019t have\u2062 a\u2064 mechanism to check the material impact?\u201d Flaherty said to Facebook executives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Another\u2064 note reveals Flaherty becoming frustrated that Facebook couldn\u2019t provide\u200b some of the data the White House \u200dwanted, so he pushed the platform to \u201cplay ball.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI feel like we\u2019re running around in circles. Some partners give us lots of information, some partners \u200btell us to\u200d f***\u2063 right off,\u201d Flaherty said.\u2064 \u201cThis feels \u2062like we\u2019re chasing our tails.
