But almost immediately, the FDA jumped into\u200d high gear to destroy the reputation of the drug and to persuade doctors\u2063 to avoid prescribing it, discouraging <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox8live.com\/2021\/10\/24\/pharmacist-denies-man-ivermectin-despite-rx-not-approved-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pharmacies<\/a> \u2064 from selling it even with\u200c a doctor\u2019s prescription.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the FDA was so adamant to stop people from considering the drug that it launched a\u200d cynical effort\u200d to label it <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/people-defamed-ivermectin-horse-dewormer-now-suggest-women-go-veterinarians-abortion-med\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201chorse medicine\u201d<\/a> and, therefore, unfit for use in \u200dhumans.<\/p>\n<p>In\u2063 reality, not only has ivermectin\u2063 long been used in humans to treat several \u2064common infections, diseases, and ailments, but \u200dlong before the pandemic began,\u200b its positive impact on the third world was so profound \u200bthat \u2063the scientists\u200c who developed it won a\u2063 Nobel Prize for \u200cthe drug in 2015.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDiseases caused by parasites have plagued \u200chumankind for millennia and constitute a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-forced-to-walk-back-smug-anti-ivermectin-post-makes-huge-admission-about-the-drug\/\" title=\"FDA retracts arrogant anti-Ivermectin post, admits significant facts about the drug.\">major global health\u200d problem<\/a>,\u201d the Nobel Assembly at \u200cKarolinska Institutet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nobelprize.org\/prizes\/medicine\/2015\/press-release\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote in 2015<\/a>. \u201cIn particular, parasitic diseases affect the world\u2019s \u2063poorest populations\u200c and represent a huge barrier to\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/could-chowing-down-on-cocoa-fix-your-heart\/\" title=\"Could Chowing Down on Cocoa Fix Your Heart?\">improving human health<\/a> and well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So, the fact is, ivermectin has been used in humans\u200d for decades. Yes, the same style drug \u2063is also\u2064 used in veterinary medicine, but it is not exclusively for animals, despite the \u2063FDA\u2019s attempt to paint it as such.<\/p>\n<p>Certainly,\u200d that laudatory history did not stop\u200b the\u200b FDA\u2064 from\u2063 its illicit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ivermectin-hit-piece-debunked-hospital-steps-forward-truth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">campaign<\/a> \u2063 to cajole Americans into thinking that ivermectin is \u200bonly for horses and cows.<\/p>\n<p>The FDA\u2063 even took to Twitter in\u200c August \u200c2021 to blast the drug, writing, \u201cYou are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y\u2019all. Stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">You\u200d are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y\u2019all. Stop it. \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/TWb75xYEY4\">https:\/\/t.co\/TWb75xYEY4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 U.S. FDA \u200c(@US_FDA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/US_FDA\/status\/1429050070243192839?\">August 21, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It was that\u2063 post that doctors said \u2064amounts to illegal \u200dgovernment interference in their right to prescribe\u2063 ivermectin for\u2064 their patients \u2014 especially since the FDA itself \u2064had years \u2064ago\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fda-approves-horse-drug-fight-covid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">approved the \u200bdrug<\/a> for \u200buse in humans here in the\u200b U.S.A.<\/p>\n<p>This case was originally dismissed by a Trump-appointed judge in 2022, but the\u2064 doctors appealed \u2064to\u200c the Fifth Circuit, and that case was heard last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fundamental issue in\u2062 this case is straightforward. After the FDA approves the \u200bhuman drug for sale, does it then have the authority to\u200b interfere with how that\u2064 drug is used\u2062 within \u200cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-new-hampshire-medical-society-pushed-doctors-to-sign-planned-parenthood-late-term-abortion-letter\/\" title=\"Whistleblower: New Hampshire Medical Society Pushed Doctors To Sign Planned Parenthood Late-Term Abortion Letter\">doctor-patient relationship<\/a>? The answer is no,\u201d\u2063 Jared\u200b Kelson, who is representing the doctors,\u2062 told the appeals court, according to \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courthousenews.com\/ivermectin-proponents-ask-fifth-circuit-to-revive-lawsuit-against-fda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Courthouse News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The doctors added that when the FDA told people to \u201cstop it,\u201d that\u2064 amounted to a demand \u2064from\u200b a government health agency\u2064 to stop prescribing, using, and\u2063 selling\u200d ivermectin. And in\u2064 many cases, that \u200dis exactly how doctors, \u2062hospitals and pharmacies\u200d took it \u2014 as a command \u200cto ban the drug issued by a government agency.<\/p>\n<p>The agency \u200dalso posted a long, involved \u2062warning to its website with \u2063an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">article<\/a> entitled, \u201cWhy You Should\u200d Not \u200dUse Ivermectin to\u2062 Treat or Prevent\u2062 COVID-19.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FDA, though, claimed that \u200bwith its \u2062offhanded tweet \u2063they were just trying to issue a \u201cquippy tweet \u200cmeant to share\u200b its\u2064 informational article\u201d and\u2064 the \u201cstop it\u201d command was\u2063 just a\u200c fun way to relay \u200dtheir concerns about\u200c the drug, the Epoch Times reported.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062tweet and its other statements\u200c \u201cdon\u2019t prohibit doctors\u200d from\u2064 prescribing ivermectin to treat COVID or for any other purpose,\u201d FDA lawyer Honold told the court.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFDA is \u200bclearly \u2064acknowledging\u200d that doctors have the authority to prescribe human ivermectin to treat COVID. \u2064So they are not interfering \u2063with \u2064the \u2062authority of doctors to prescribe \u200bdrugs\u2063 or to\u2064 practice\u2064 medicine,\u201d\u200d Honold added.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b judges were not convinced that the FDA was \u2063merely trying to inform \u2062and wasn\u2019t launching <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rolling-stone-offers-pathetic-update-ivermectin-overdose-story-got-totally-wrong-bury-1-fact-killed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a war<\/a> against ivermectin.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat about \u200cwhen it said, \u2018No,\u2062 stop it\u2019?\u201d asked Circuit Judge\u2063 Jennifer Walker \u2063Elrod. \u201cWhy isn\u2019t \u200bthat a command? If you \u200bwere \u2062in English class, they would\u200b say that was \u200ca command.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs\u2063 added that the\u2063 FDA has never been \u2064allowed \u200dto offer\u200b medical advice, and they said the \u2064FDA\u2019s \u2062actions \u200dto \u200cundermine ivermectin\u2063 is\u200d exactly that. The FDA,\u200c the\u2063 lawyers said, didn\u2019t \u2062just offer\u2064 information, they actively\u2062 offered advice to \u201cstop\u201d using the drug.<\/p>\n<p>This was a point \u200dthat most of the judges on the panel seemed \u200dinclined to\u2063 agree \u2063with. Judge Edith Brown Clement, for instance, said, \u201cYou\u2019re not authorized\u200c to give \u2062medical advice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the government \u200bagency \u200cmeant\u2064 then, it is \u200dclear\u200c that now the FDA has quietly rewritten\u2062 its \u201cinformation\u201d page \u200bto eliminate\u200c much of the overly alarming rhetoric. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new \u2062page<\/a> is far more dispassionate about the use \u200dof ivermectin and is couched far more\u2062 in scientific and medical terms.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, on\u2064 its <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20210305163946\/https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/consumers\/consumer-updates\/why-you-should-not-use-ivermectin-treat-or-prevent-covid-19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">original\u200b page<\/a>, the FDA used phrases like \u201ccan cause serious harm\u201d \u2063and \u201cplease beware,\u201d called use of the drug an \u201cunconventional treatment,\u201d \u2062and repeatedly said it was for animals and not for use \u200d\u201cin humans.\u201d In short,\u2063 the \u200coriginal \u200cpage\u2062 was \u2063filled with words and phrases\u200c meant\u2064 to scare \u200cpeople\u200c away from\u2062 the drug and \u200dtried to\u200d convey that it was really only\u200c for animals and could be dangerous for humans. Much of that\u200c language, \u200cthough, is now gone\u200b in \u2064the updated page.<\/p>\n<p>The new \u200bpage also added a line at the end, saying, \u201cTalk to your health \u200dcare provider about available COVID-19 vaccines and treatment options. Your provider can \u200bhelp determine\u200c the best option for \u2063you,\u200c based on your health \u2064history.\u201d It is a \u200cline that\u2062 can\u2062 now be construed to\u2064 mean that the FDA is leaving the use of ivermectin up to your doctor.\u200d This \u2062is a line \u2062that\u2064 was entirely absent in\u200c the \u2064original post.<\/p>\n<p>This about-face \u200bis just another \u2064example of how the medical elites and the federal\u200b government are quietly and \u2062slowly backing away from \u200cthe extreme \u2063statements\u200c and polices floated during the \u200cworst of the pandemic years.
