This decision comes after the airline fired a flight attendant, Charlene Carter, for expressing \u2063her religious views on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Judge\u2064 Starr&#8217;s order requires Southwest to organize\u200d religious freedom training and send a \u2064notice to all its flight attendants regarding the protections on religious speech. The rule of law\u2064 and the \u2062republican form of government \u200bguarantee no less.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Ms. Carter filed a lawsuit against Southwest, and the jury found that the airline had indeed violated her protections of religious speech under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act. \u200cThe court ordered her reinstatement \u200band\u200d prohibited Southwest from discriminating based\u2062 on \u2062religious beliefs.<\/p>\n<p>However, instead of complying with the court&#8217;s\u2062 order, Southwest sent a notice to its flight attendants\u2063 stating that they do not discriminate against employees \u2063for their religious practices and beliefs. This action contradicted the court&#8217;s intent.<\/p>\n<p>Southwest also issued a memo to its flight attendants, instructing them to adhere to the policies that led to Ms. Carter&#8217;s termination.
