Kim \u200dReynolds&#8217; invitation to join her for a series of GOP Republican presidential candidate conversations at the Iowa fair this weekend. Windschitl believes that this refusal reveals a \u2063lack of \u200dinterest \u200din engaging with \u2062Iowa GOP voters and \u2062a \u2063failure to\u200b recognize \u2062one of\u200c Iowa&#8217;s &#8220;proudest traditions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2>Trump&#8217;s \u2063Petty Vindictiveness<\/h2>\n<p>In a \u200cFriday opinion \u2064piece, Windschitl criticized \u2064Trump&#8217;s behavior,\u200d stating, &#8220;With such \u200bopen hostility for\u2064 someone so well regarded in our state, Trump revealed a \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dozens-of-law-enforcement-officers-move-between-trump-and-his-plane-shortly-before-takeoff-watch-what-happens-next\/\" title=\"Law enforcement officers shift near Trump's plane before takeoff - observe the outcome.\">petty vindictiveness<\/a> unbecoming \u200cof a \u200bformer president. It\u2064 is deeply disappointing to those of us who used to support him.&#8221; Windschitl emphasized that Trump&#8217;s\u2062 attack\u200d on \u2064Gov. Reynolds,\u2064 who\u200b has capably led the state, \u2064is a betrayal to Iowa Republicans \u200cwho\u200c have stood by him.<\/p>\n<p>Windschitl concluded, &#8220;Put simply: If he&#8217;s too chicken to\u2063 talk to our Governor, how can he possibly win the presidency?&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Reynolds Remains\u2064 Unfazed<\/h2>\n<p>Despite Trump&#8217;s decision, Gov. Reynolds appeared unaffected, stating, &#8220;I mean that&#8217;s his decision, I \u200binvited him; we would love to \u2064do it, so the candidates are\u200b going to make their own \u200ddecisions, and it is \u2063what\u200d it is,&#8221;\u200b in an interview with\u200b the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n<h2>Trump&#8217;s Previous Attack\u200d on Reynolds<\/h2>\n<p>In \u2062July,\u2063 Trump\u2062 attacked Reynolds \u200bafter a New York Times article \u200drevealed her close relationship with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL). Reynolds \u200bhad previously \u2064stated that she would not \u2063endorse \u2062any\u2063 of the\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-anatomy-of-a-stolen-election-the-fraud-cannot-stand\/\" title=\"The Anatomy of a Stolen Election \u2013 The Fraud Cannot Stand\">presidential candidates<\/a> in the Republican primary.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;I opened up the Governor\u2063 position for Kim Reynolds, &#038; when she \u2063fell behind, I ENDORSED\u200b her, did big Rallies,\u200d &#038; \u2064she \u2062won,&#8221; Trump\u200b wrote in a Truth Social post. &#8220;Now, she \u2064wants\u200b to remain &#8216;NEUTRAL.&#8217; \u200cI don&#8217;t invite her to events!
