Joe Manchin of\u2064 West Virginia \u2064and Kyrsten Sinema of \u200cArizona) to pull off.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, ever \u2063since Thomas refused to let himself be torpedoed like Robert \u200bBork during his\u2063 1991 confirmation hearings \u2014 where flimsy, unsupported charges of \u200bsexual harassment\u2062 were the fodder used to try and keep \u200da bona fide \u200bconservative off of the \u200chigh bench \u2014 the left has \u2063had it out for him. Before it was the \u201cbillionaire donor\u201d \u2064rigamarole,\u2063 it was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/courts\/commentary\/the-clarence-thomas-witch-hunt-must-stop\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">#MeToo-era re-pillorying<\/a> of Thomas over his confirmation testimony. The tactics may change, \u200cbut the fear and loathing of Thomas from the left never will.<\/p>\n<p>If \u2063the Democrats don\u2019t have the votes to court-pack, they also don\u2019t have \u2062the\u2062 votes to impeach and oust\u2062 Thomas. Mind \u200cyou, they can throw a lot of mud and try to delegitimize his tenure on the\u2062 court.
