We\u2019ll be\u2062 announcing additional ways we\u2019re\u2064 showing our\u200c support in the lead-up\u2063 to #Pride2023. What makes this \u2063somewhat hilarious is that both Mars and\u200c Skittles should have learned not to\u200b step in an LGBT-tastic mess after another \u200dadvertising campaign for another of the company\u2019s brands \u2014 M&#038;M\u2019s \u2014 backfired earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>In \u200cthat case, \u2062after androgynous \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mms-cuts-woke-mascots-tucker-carlson-joke-adds-candy-coated-kamala-wannabe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">spokescandies<\/a>\u201d for the chocolate\u200d candy brand got called out by \u200bconservatives, M&#038;M\u2019s apologized for the decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmerica, let\u2019s talk,\u201d a January statement from the company said. \u201cIn the last year, we\u2019ve made some changes to our spokescandies. We weren\u2019t sure if anyone would even notice. And we definitely didn\u2019t think it \u2062would break the internet. But now we get it \u2014 even a candy\u2019s shoes can \u2063be polarizing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we have decided to take an indefinite pause from the spokescandies,\u201d the statement\u200d added. \u201cIn their place, we are\u200d proud to introduce a spokesperson America can agree on: the beloved Maya \u2063Rudolph. This is <em>candy<\/em>, which is aimed at children. Did \u2063these executives not think it would draw the same kind of scrutiny the Mulvaney fiasco did \u2014 if not worse?\u2063 Or are \u200bthey that cocooned in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/big-oil-sells-wells-exchange-esg-points-texan-buys-makes-billions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESG-centric<\/a> C-suites at Mars that they saw nothing problematic with this?<\/p>\n<p>Whatever the case may be,\u2063 have fun \u200dwith being Bud Light 2.0, \u200bSkittles executives.
