Since \u200bMay, Mr. Meza \u2062has remained in jail on a $1 million bond.<\/p>\n<p>According to court records, Mr. Meza called\u200d the Austin\u2064 Police Department\u200c on May 24\u200c and confessed to one of the killings when \u2064a detective answered the phone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy \u2062name \u200dis\u200b Raul Meza,\u201d the caller said, according to an affidavit. \u201cI think you are\u200b looking\u2062 for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Decades earlier, Mr. Meza caused an uproar in \u200cTexas \u200btowns where he tried settling down \u2063after\u200c serving about a third of a 30-year sentence in the \u200drape and killing of 8-year-old Kendra Page. He was released on\u2063 parole in 1993, with credit for time served and good behavior.<\/p>\n<p>After picketers \u2062drove\u2063 him out of six cities,\u2062 Mr.\u2063 Meza directly \u200bpleaded to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn my heart, I know that\u2063 I will not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/child-murderer-run-out-of-towns-in-1990s-faces-new-charges-in-2-texas-killings\/\" title=\"Child murderer, expelled from towns in the 90s, now faces fresh charges for 2 Texas killings.\">willfully bring harm<\/a> to anyone,\u201d \u2064he said during\u200b an August 1993 news conference, in which he \u2062described himself as a born-again Christian and not a threat to society.<\/p>\n<p>Officers\u2063 in \u200bthe Austin suburb of Pflugerville found Fraga\u2019s body on \u200dMay 20 \u200bwhile doing a wellness check after loved ones hadn\u2019t heard from him for several days.
