State-run\u2063 media Xinhua responded by accusing U.S. \u200dpoliticians and Western\u2063 media of using China&#8217;s economic problems as an opportunity to &#8220;bad\u200b mouth&#8221; the second-largest \u200deconomy in the world.<\/p>\n<h2>Renewed Engagement\u2063 With China<\/h2>\n<p>President Biden&#8217;s remarks\u200c echo his previous comments made at another fundraiser\u2062 in June, where \u2064he referred to Chinese leader Xi Jinping as a &#8220;dictator.&#8221; \u2063This statement came shortly after Secretary of State Antony Blinken had a &#8220;robust conversation&#8221; with Mr. Xi and other top \u200cdiplomats in Beijing.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration aims\u200c to reduce tensions between Beijing and \u200bWashington, as bilateral ties have worsened over various issues.
