(Eric Gay\/AP Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Emmett said they put \u200bairmen on temporary duty while\u2064 at\u200d the \u2064clinic, where they meet with a\u200d team of endocrinologists,\u2064 nutritionists, surgeons, and \u200dothers who put together a treatment plan for hormones and surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>She then talked about taking the next step to get a letter recommending &#8220;top surgery,&#8221; which is removing both \u200cbreasts.<\/p>\n<p>Emmett discussed getting exceptions to the policy \u2064allowing her to wear male\u200d uniforms and go to the men&#8217;s restroom.<\/p>\n<p>The San Antonio clinic was operational before \u20622021. (Caroline Brehman\/AFP via Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The \u206234-page Department of Defense document\u2064 first reported by <a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.today\/p\/confidential-biden-dod-memo-reveals?sd=pf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Dossier<\/a> estimated it could take\u200d 9\u201318 months to complete a gender\u200d transition.<\/p>\n<p>The North \u2062Carolina clinic offers transgender\u2063 soldiers\u2064 mental health &#8220;care,&#8221; hormones, genital surgeries, mastectomies and breast implants, \u200band voice &#8220;therapy,&#8221; according\u200d to the memo.<\/p>\n<p>Transgender \u2064soldiers\u2063 could undergo various surgeries after taking hormones \u200cfor 12 months,\u2064 according to the memo.<\/p>\n<p>The memo \u2064discussed delaying deployment for \u2063up to 300 \u2063days\u200d for transgender soldiers\u2063 using\u200b cross-sex hormones during their transition, which critics \u2064say illustrates \u2063the serious <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/viral-video-details-us-air-force-transgender-military-clinic-in-texas\/\" title=\"US Air Force Transgender Military Clinic in Texas Goes Viral\">issues \u200bsurrounding allowing transgender individuals<\/a> \u2064to \u2064serve.<\/p>\n<p>It called the delay in deployment necessary, so the transgender \u2064soldier could &#8220;stabilize&#8221; while\u200b taking hormones.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:640px\" class=\"aligncenter\"><figcaption>Testosterone medication for\u200b gender transitioning used for injecting\u200d into fatty tissue in Northern \u2063California on\u200b Aug. 26, 2022. (John Fredricks\/The Epoch Times)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Alan Hopewell, a neuropsychologist in\u2063 Fort Worth, Texas, is in the\u2063 unique position \u200bof having served in the military for\u200b 28 years and having treated those with gender dysphoria\u2014confusion and distress over biological sex.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. \u200dHopewell has sounded \u2064the alarm surrounding the impact cross-sex hormones could have on transgender soldiers who frequently \u2064suffer from other mental \u200chealth \u200cissues such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.<\/p>\n<p>Combined those factors \u200dwith the stress of combat could \u2064create a volatile mix, Mr. Hopewell told\u2064 The Epoch Times.<\/p>\n<p>Transgender soldiers frequently\u200c see specialists such as endocrinologists, which\u2062 wouldn&#8217;t be available in a\u200d field of combat, he pointed \u200bout.<\/p>\n<p>Their medical and mental health issues make it unlikely they will be retained for long in the military, he said, adding that the taxpayer may see little benefit from the expense of medical transitioning.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Biden \u2063administration, \u200bthe military changed its rules in 2021 to allow those with gender dysphoria \u2064to serve.<\/p>\n<p>Some military officials have dismissed medication and service concerns surrounding transgender soldiers, saying the military\u2062 should not discriminate.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width:250px\" class=\"alignright\"><figcaption>C.
