(AP Photo\/Sudhin Thanawala)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>OAN\u2019s <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/abril-elfi\" target=\"_blank\">Abril Elfi<\/a><br \/>4:18 PM \u2013 Friday, August 11, 2023<\/h2>\n<p>A Georgia mother has filed\u2062 a lawsuit against Southern Regional \u2062Medical Center and Dr. Tracey St. Julian, regarding the alleged decapitation of her baby. <\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, Jessica Ross, 20, filed a lawsuit against a Georgia hospital claiming that they attempted to keep the baby\u2019s cause \u2064of death a secret after he was allegedly \u2062decapitated during delivery. <\/p>\n<p>On July 9<sup>th<\/sup>, Ross and her boyfriend, Treveon Isaiah \u2062Taylor \u2063Sr., went into the medical center for the delivery of their child.<\/p>\n<p>According to the lawsuit, her doctor \u201cattempted to deliver\u2063 the baby vaginally using different <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-woman-files-lawsuit-as-doctor-allegedly-decapitated-baby-during-delivery\/\" title=\"Georgia woman sues doctor for allegedly decapitating baby during delivery.\">methods including applying traction<\/a> to the baby\u2019s head.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>While\u200d attempting delivery, \u201cthe baby\u2064 did not properly descend due to shoulder dystocia, \u201dmeaning that the  baby\u2019s \u200cshoulders \u200bhad become stuck in the \u2064vaginal canal. <\/p>\n<p>According \u200dto Ross\u2019 attorney, the doctor \u201cfailed to practice in accordance with medical \u200dstandards.\u201d \u2062It was also stated that the doctor \u201cgrossly\u201d and \u201cnegligently applied excessive traction\u201d on the infant\u2019s head and \u200cneck and \u201cfailed to perform\u2064 a Cesarean section in a timely and proper manner, resulting \u200bin Treveon Isaiah \u2064Taylor \u2062Jr. \u2018s decapitation and\u200c death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers stated that nearly three hours passed before she was taken for the \u2063surgical procedure. <\/p>\n<p>According to Attorney \u200cRoderick Edmond, the couple allegedly\u00a0asked for a C-section earlier, when the baby still could have survived, but were\u2064 denied. They also added that the cesarean section removed the baby\u2019s legs and \u2063body, but the head was delivered vaginally. <\/p>\n<p>Southern Regional \u200dreleased a statement allegedly \u200dclaiming that privacy \u200cregulations prevented it from discussing the care of specific patients, but it refutes the accusations.
