Robert Hunter Biden, as well as for any other matters that\u200c arose or may arise from that investigation,&#8221; according to a release from the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) criticized the appointment, stating, &#8220;This move by Attorney General Garland is part of the Justice Department&#8217;s efforts to attempt a Biden family coverup in light of the House Oversight Committee&#8217;s mounting evidence of President Joe Biden&#8217;s role\u200c in his\u200d family&#8217;s schemes selling &#8216;the\u200c brand&#8217; for \u200bmillions of dollars to foreign nationals.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Comer pledged that his committee, along with the House Judiciary Committee, will work to uncover misconduct at the Justice Department and hold those responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cant-be-trusted-republicans-call-hunter-biden-special-counsel-appointment-a-coverup\/\" title=\"Republicans slam Hunter Biden special counsel appointment as a 'coverup', deem him 'untrustworthy'.\">abusing law enforcement powers accountable<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The House Judiciary Committee also condemned Garland&#8217;s decision, calling it a coverup. These revelations have further fueled GOP criticism of the probe.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) also dismissed the appointment as a positive development, cautioning \u200dthat it should\u200d not be used \u200bto obstruct congressional investigations or cover up the Biden family&#8217;s corruption.<\/p>\n<p>Several other Republican representatives, including Rep.
