The \u200cpresident\u2019s son rejected\u200b the \u200ddeal after the judge <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/27\/hunter-bidens-plea-deal-wasnt-supposed-to-protect-him-it-was-supposed-to-protect-joe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">clarified<\/a> the agreement would not offer the Bidens immunity from future charges. Prosecutors revealed in court that they were still considering charges under the \u200dForeign Agents Registration Act (FARA).<\/p>\n<p>The plea deal was also\u200b scuffled after a pair of whistleblowers from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) detailed explosive allegations of DOJ interference that prevented prosecutors from \u200dbringing the most \u2064serious\u2063 charges against Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Veteran IRS agents Joseph Ziegler and Gary Shapley testified before House lawmakers last month that the department actively\u2062 sabotaged their federal \u200ctax investigation that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/22\/irs-investigation-into-hunter-biden-started-as-probe-into-foreign-pornography-ring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">originated<\/a> as a probe into a <a title=\"IRS investigates Hunter Biden for involvement in foreign pornography ring.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/irs-investigation-into-hunter-biden-started-as-probe-into-foreign-pornography-ring\/\">foreign pornography ring<\/a>. According to Shapley, Weiss <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/19\/irs-whistleblower-says-weiss-allowed-statute-of-limitations-to-expire-in-hunter-biden-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allowed<\/a> the statute of limitations to pass to avoid filing additional charges, with the\u2063 most significant felonies left <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/20\/irs-whistleblower-unanimous-agreement-to-charge-hunter-biden-with-felonies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">off the table<\/a>. Whistleblowers also said they were left in the dark about evidence from the FBI\u200b that was <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/24\/fbi-told-delaware-u-s-attorney-it-had-already-partially-corroborated-biden-bribery-claims-source-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">corroborated<\/a> by\u2063 the\u200d bureau implicating President Joe Biden in a <a title=\"FBI has evidence of Biden's bribery scheme with foreign national, says whistleblower.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-alleges-fbi-has-evidence-of-biden-engaging-in-bribery-scheme-with-foreign-national\/\">criminal bribery scheme<\/a> with Hunter\u2019s Ukrainian business partners.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the cascade of crime-ridden \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/01\/evidence-of-biden-burisma-corruption-is-overwhelming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scandals<\/a> to plague the president\u2019s \u2063family, Hunter Biden was prepared to plead guilty merely to two <a title=\"President\u2019s Son Gets Sweetheart Deal From Feds on Gun, Tax Charges\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/presidents-son-gets-sweetheart-deal-from-feds-on-gun-tax-charges\/\">misdemeanor tax crimes<\/a>\u200b and a <a title=\"Garland selects corrupt counsel to hinder Congress, shield Biden.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/garland-appoints-corrupt-special-counsel-to-stonewall-congress-protect-joe-biden\/\">single felony firearm charge forgiven<\/a> after 24 months \u200cof sobriety.<\/p>\n<p>The move to elevate Biden\u2019s prosecutors to <a title=\"Former AG Bill Barr To Merrick Garland: Appoint A Special Counsel Already\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-ag-bill-barr-to-merrick-garland-appoint-a-special-counsel-already\/\">special counsel status<\/a> after the plea\u200d deal was rejected is a deflection from Garland to claim the investigation is\u200d run entirely independently.\u2063 There is no\u2062 such thing as special counsel immunity from \u200bcongressional subpoenas, but \u200dthe promotion may interfere with \u200dWeiss\u2019s planned testimony before lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Russell Dye, a spokesman for House Republican Judiciary Chairman\u2064 Jim Jordan of Ohio, \u2062called Weiss\u2019s appointment to special counsel \u201cjust a new way to whitewash the Biden family\u2019s corruption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWeiss has \u2062already signed off on a sweetheart plea deal that was so \u2063awful and unfair that a federal judge rejected it,\u201d \u200cDye said in a statement to The\u200c Federalist.\u2064 \u201cWe will continue to pursue facts\u2062 brought to light by brave \u2062whistleblowers as well as Weiss\u2019s inconsistent statements to\u2062 Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Tristan Justice is the western correspondent for The Federalist and the author of Social Justice Redux, a conservative newsletter \u200don culture, health, and wellness. \u200dHe has also written for The Washington \u200bExaminer and The Daily Signal.
