Barrett Prettyman United States Courthouse. Chutkan stated that she supported the\u200d legal counsel for \u200cTrump, who argued that \u2062only \u201csensitive\u201d information should be kept secret in their\u2064 proposed order. The order from\u200d the Trump campaign\u200d would not apply to \u2064the release of\u2064 \u201cnon-sensitive\u201d information. <\/p>\n<p>However, she \u2064agreed with prosecutors on a number of points pertaining to the order, such as the\u2064 demand that \u200call recordings, transcripts, \u200cand reports of witness testimony be deemed \u201csensitive\u201d\u200c information. She\u2064 also turned \u2063down the\u200b Trump team\u2019s request to increase the number of people who could \u200caccess the \u2063discovery information.<\/p>\n<p>Chutkan, \u200dan Obama appointee, is known for being \u200dthe \u201ctoughest punisher\u201d \u200din\u200c cases involving the events on January 6<sup>th<\/sup>. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe fact that he\u2019s tuning a political campaign has to yield to \u2064the orderly administration \u200cof justice,\u201d Chutkan stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She suggested that Trump might release evidence about former Vice President Mike\u2062 Pence\u2019s\u2063 testimony, for example, to \u200ddenigrate him as\u2062 a witness.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThe defendant\u2019s desire to respond \u200dto \u2063political opponents has \u200bto yield,\u201d Chutkan said. \u201cThere are limits. This is \u2063a criminal case. The need for this case \u200cto proceed in a normal order means there are going to be limits \u2063on the defendant\u2019s speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She also\u2064 told Trump\u2019s attorney, John Lauro, that\u2062 a protective\u2063 order affecting the presidential \u200dcampaign was not her concern. <\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s defense team attempted to convince the judge that the\u2064 government\u2019s request was \u2064so wide that\u200d Trump\u200c would be unable to respond to political criticism \u200bon the campaign trail without \u200cbreaking\u2064 the protective order. <\/p>\n<p>Though she agreed with \u2064their argument that\u200c not all of the evidence \u2064acquired by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missouri-man-charged-with-threatening-to-murder-2-us-congressmen\/\" title=\"Missouri Man Charged With Threatening to Murder 2 US Congressmen\">federal grand jury<\/a> is covered by\u2064 the protective order, Chutkan concluded that witness interviews and other \u200d\u201csensitive\u201d documents must \u200cbe kept secret.  <\/p>\n<p>According to the\u2064 press more than 800 cases have\u200b been filed \u200bthus far by the Justice Department, making this \u2064the\u200c largest prosecution in agency history.  <\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
