He is\u200b going to have \u200brestrictions like every single other\u200b defendant. This case\u2062 is proceeding in the normal order,&#8221; Chutkan \u200bsaid.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fact the defendant is engaged in a political campaign is not going to allow him any greater or lesser latitude than any defendant in a criminal case.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It \u200cis standard practice for federal prosecutors to request protective orders before sharing evidence with defense lawyers \u2064to protect\u2064 confidential records and ensure the integrity of\u200c the\u2062 trial.<\/p>\n<p>Often, defense lawyers\u200b do not oppose them\u2063 because \u2063doing so slows down the government&#8217;s production \u2063of evidence, a process known as &#8220;discovery,&#8221; to help them prepare.<\/p>\n<p>But Trump&#8217;s attorneys have argued that\u200d the scope\u2062 of\u2063 the \u200bprotective order is too broad,\u200c and would run \u200dafoul of his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-rules-trump-can-share-some-evidence-publicly-in-2020-election-case\/\" title=\"Judge allows Trump to publicly share evidence in 2020 election case.\">free\u200b speech rights<\/a> under\u2062 the First Amendment of the\u2063 U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;This kind of \u200bblanket\u2064 order is extraordinary,&#8221; Trump&#8217;s\u2064 lawyer John Lauro said on Friday. &#8220;We have to face the \u200bfact we are in\u2062 uncharted waters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>(Reporting by Sarah N.
