She targets \u200dvarious groups, including &#8220;right-wing&#8221; individuals, white men, &#8220;incels,&#8221; Rush Limbaugh, MAGA supporters, QAnon, Steve Bannon, and concerned parents. However, there is more to the issue than just political finger-pointing.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Those responsible for our crisis of \u2062loneliness have created and exploited a growing\u200c sense of alienation through right-wing \u200bpropaganda and misinformation, \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-twitter-executives-account-for-censorship-actions-before-house-republicans\/\" title=\"Former Twitter Executives Account For Censorship Actions Before House Republicans\">malign foreign interference<\/a> \u2062in our elections, and the vociferous backlash against social progress.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Clinton resurrects her infamous &#8220;vast right-wing conspiracy&#8221; narrative, suggesting that those responsible for the loneliness epidemic have utilized these tactics. Ironically, her language\u2063 mirrors the very suppression \u200band isolation she claims to oppose. Such \u2062demonization only\u200d serves to shut down conversation,\u2063 isolate dissenting voices, and enforce compliance with unreasonable demands.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in the real world, Americans are undeniably\u200b suffering from an epidemic of loneliness and social isolation. This is not breaking \u2063news. Tragic\u2062 consequences,\u200d such\u2063 as increased deaths of despair and negative effects on mental and physical health, have been making headlines \u200cfor decades.\u2063 But what\u2064 lies at the root\u200d of this fracturing?<\/p>\n<h3>A &#8216;Machinery of Loneliness&#8217; Drives\u2062 This Crisis<\/h3>\n<p>Clinton&#8217;s article aims \u200cto promote Surgeon General Vivek\u200c Murthy&#8217;s recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hhs.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/surgeon-general-social-connection-advisory.pdf\">81-page advisory<\/a> \u2063titled \u200d&#8221;Our Epidemic of Loneliness\u2064 and Social Isolation.&#8221; \u2064She presents her 1996 book, &#8220;It Takes a Village,&#8221; as a precursor to Murthy&#8217;s advisory.<\/p>\n<p>Murthy&#8217;s advisory should \u2064raise concerns for all Americans. It declares \u200bthe loneliness epidemic a public health \u200dcrisis that demands urgent \u200cgovernment intervention. However, it also opens the door for extensive government intrusion into our \u200cprivate lives, as I have previously discussed in a series of articles at The Federalist.<\/p>\n<p>Resistance against this initiative is crucial. To understand why, we must turn to Hannah Arendt&#8217;s monumental work, &#8220;The Origins of Totalitarianism.&#8221; Arendt observed that people can only be \u2064fully terrorized into compliance if they are first isolated \u200dfrom one another. &#8220;Therefore,&#8221; \u200cshe wrote, &#8220;one of the primary concerns of all tyrannical governments is to bring this isolation about.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This process \u2063involves \u2062what I refer to as the &#8220;machinery of \u200bloneliness.&#8221; It is not a new phenomenon, stretching back through modern history, at least \u200dsince the French Revolution. To rein it \u200bin and revive civil society with trustworthy institutions, we must recognize its components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identity politics, which strips away individuality and divides us into oppressor and\u200d victim groups.<\/li>\n<li>Political correctness,\u200d which controls our \u200cspeech through self-censorship and the fear of social ostracism.<\/li>\n<li>Mob agitation, taking various forms, but always enforcing the above and\u200d cultivating conformity, compliance, and social distrust.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The machinery \u2062is further fueled by\u2063 propaganda, censorship, the criminalization of comedy, and a culture of snitching. New technologies\u2064 also play a role in perpetuating this system.<\/p>\n<h3>Harnessing the Terror of Social Rejection<\/h3>\n<p>Under these conditions, the innate human fear of social rejection becomes a\u200b powerful weapon. This fear\u2063 ignites\u200b our impulse to conform and keeps the machinery running\u2062 smoothly. We become \u200dentangled in this matrix whenever we believe that\u2064 compliance is necessary for social acceptance, a fundamental human need.<\/p>\n<p>Those \u2063with a totalitarian impulse\u2062 for social engineering \u2063rely on maintaining this machinery. Attacks on free speech are essential to the process. Without open dialogue, we cannot develop genuine bonds of trust. If we cannot establish trusting relationships within our families, communities, and friendships, we become increasingly \u200ddependent on our government captors, akin to Stockholm Syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>Over \u2064the years, this machinery has been intertwined with\u2063 policies that promote alienation, despair, \u2062and loneliness. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/yes-hillary-clinton-knows-a-lot-about-the-weaponization-of-loneliness\/\" title=\"Hillary Clinton is well-versed in the concept of using loneliness as a weapon.\">massive welfare state contributes<\/a> to urban blight, family breakdown, dependency, and community disintegration. The opioid epidemic, homelessness, and crime are left unaddressed. Elites push for infanticidal abortion, the medical transitioning of children, and the erosion of parental rights, all of which isolate us and destabilize healthy human relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore,\u2062 the COVID-19 mandates enforced \u2062our isolation through face coverings, \u2064lockdowns, \u2062vaccine mandates, and the separation from\u200b our dying loved ones. Today, the calls for censorship under the guise of protecting us from misinformation pose a significant\u2062 threat. Any government that\u2064 monitors and punishes its citizens&#8217;\u200d conversations isolates them from one another.<\/p>\n<h3>Government Disruption of Healthy \u2064Relationships<\/h3>\n<p>Murthy&#8217;s advisory incorporates the weaponization of loneliness by implementing programs that disrupt the development of healthy\u2064 human relationships. These programs include\u2064 identity politics,\u2062 surveillance,\u200c propaganda, and \u200cthe censorship \u2064required \u2063by the DEI \u2063(diversity, equity, and inclusion) regime.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2064 is \u2063not surprising that proponents of government bureaucracy, like Clinton and Murthy, suddenly show a keen interest in &#8220;curing&#8221; the loneliness that their policies have contributed to. However, we must be cautious of\u200d the vast scope \u2063of this project, \u200bas legislation has been introduced to \u2064enact it. Like \u2064all collectivist \u200cschemes, it disguises itself as compassion but ultimately leads to further atomization.<\/p>\n<p>Clinton&#8217;s utopian vision of a village relies on the authority and force of the federal\u2062 bureaucracy, along\u2062 with \u2064the vilification of opposing views. Unfortunately, &#8220;The Weaponization of Loneliness&#8221; as a \u2063headline for Clinton&#8217;s Atlantic article \u200dseems \u2064more like a statement of her intent rather than the warning I express in my book&#8217;s subtitle: &#8220;How Tyrants Stoke Our Fear of Isolation to Silence,\u2063 Divide, and Conquer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, the\u200b best \u200ccourse of action for government actors, although unlikely,\u2064 is to step aside. If they \u2064genuinely want to help, they should encourage the organic development of families, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/facebook-coo-wants-platform-to-get-involved-with-religious-services\/\" title=\"Facebook COO Wants Platform To Get Involved With Religious Services\">faith-based institutions<\/a>, \u2063and friendships without constant threats of\u200c demonization and the resulting loneliness.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hillary Clinton\u2019s article in The Atlantic shares the same title as my book, &#8220;The Weaponization of Loneliness.&#8221; It has faced criticism from conservatives, rightfully so.
