investigated for allegedly lying to Congress\u2064 about his knowledge of U.S.-funded coronavirus research in Wuhan, China, prior to the COVID-19 \u2063pandemic.<\/p>\n<div Attorney Matthew Graves to explore options for prosecuting Fauci \u200bfor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-furious-woman-whose-mother-died-in-ny-nursing-home-says-nbc-news-blocked-her-mentioning-cuomos-name\/\" title=\"WATCH: Furious Woman Whose Mother Died In NY Nursing Home Says NBC News Blocked Her Mentioning Cuomo\u2019s Name\">making false claims<\/a> regarding government funds for gain-of-function research \u200din Wuhan laboratories during a Senate \u2064hearing\u2062 in May 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the\u2064 House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic published fresh \u2062emails in\u200c which the former head \u2064of the National\u200d Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) acknowledged the risky \u2064research taking place.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cDr. Fauci testified that \u2018the\u200b NIH has not\u2064 ever and \u2063does not now fund gain-of-function \u2064research in \u200cthe\u2063 Wuhan Institute of Virology,\u2019\u201d Paul told Graves in\u200c a letter.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIn \u2063a subsequent\u2063 hearing, I warned Dr. Fauci of the criminal implications of lying \u200bto\u200b Congress and\u200b offered him an opportunity to \u2064recant his previous statements,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rand-paul-demands-d-c-attorney-investigate-fauci-for-lying-to-congress-about-covid-19\/\" title=\"Rand Paul wants D.C. attorney to probe Congress\u2019 \u200dand \u2018did not retract that statement.\u2019 Dr. Fauci\u2019s testimony is inconsistent with facts that have since come to light,\u201d \u2063he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The letter, originally obtained by DailyMail.com, comes\u200b only weeks after Paul \u200breferred Fauci to \u200bthe DOJ\u200d for lying under oath on years in jail as \u200cwell \u200cas additional criminal\u200c fines.<\/p>\n<p>According to \u2063an aide in \u2064Paul\u2019s office, Attorney General Merrick\u2062 Garland has not \u2062responded to the lawmaker\u2019s request.<\/p>\n<p>At the outset of the \u2064COVID-19 pandemic, Fauci\u2064 voiced \u200cworry\u200d over how \u201cscientists in Wuhan University \u2062are known to have been working on gain-of-function experiments to determine that molecular mechanisms\u200d associated \u200dwith\u200b bat viruses\u200d adapting to \u200dhuman infection,\u201d\u200c according to an email \u200csent on February 1st, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>On a conference call,\u2062 he also expressed concerns\u2063 to experts affiliated \u200dwith the National Institutes of Health due to findings that showed \u201cmutations in the virus that would be \u200cmost unusual to have evolved\u200d naturally\u200b in the bats and that there was a suspicion that this \u200dmutation was intentionally\u200d inserted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Among\u2063 the scientists involved\u2062 in the conference call were \u200cthe authors of a contentious publication spurred by \u2063Fauci to dispute the so-called \u201clab leak\u200b theory\u201d of COVID-19 \u200borigins,\u2063 as\u200b well as then-NIH Director \u2064Francis Collins.<\/p>\n<p>More than\u200b 8,000 pages of private correspondence from Fauci and other\u2062 government scientists were obtained\u200c by the\u200b House COVID-19 panel, revealing a stunning attempt \u200dto conceal proof\u2063 that COVID-19 was engineered in \u2063a lab.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cTony\u2062 doesn\u2019t want \u200bhis fingerprints on origin stories,\u201d an NIH official said in\u2064 a July 29<sup>th<\/sup>,\u200c 2021, email\u2063 released by the \u2062subcommittee.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to \u2063the Government Accountability Office, the NIH and the \u200cU.S. Agency for International Development\u200c provided $2,168,345 in grant money to \u200cChinese\u2063 research organizations such as \u200bthe Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and Wuhan University between 2014 and 2021.<\/p>\n<p>In his letter, Paul \u200dalso mentioned an NIAID \u200bgrant\u2062 for gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, which led to a document titled \u201cDiscovery \u200dof a rich \u2064gene pool \u2062of bat SARS-related coronaviruses\u200c provides new insights into the origin of SARS coronavirus.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cBefore Congress, Dr.\u2063 Fauci denied funding gain-of-function research, to the press he\u200c claims to have a dispassionate view on the <a
