Of course, we\u2019ve given more aid than that, but haven\u2019t paid the bill on \u200dit yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Committee for a \u200dResponsible Federal Budget <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crfb.org\/blogs\/congress-approved-113-billion-aid-ukraine-2022\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> in January that $113 \u2063billion in aid and military assistance to Ukraine was approved by Congress just last \u200cyear. The $113 billion figure, Stern told The Federalist, is \u200djust the \u201cknown number\u201d based on federal accounting processes, \u200badding\u2064 the likely total is \u201csignificantly more than $113 billion\u201d but \u201cwe don\u2019t know how much more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Signal also highlighted a Monday <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/europe\/live-news\/russia-ukraine-war-news-08-07-23\/h_e564716038579e2c9f017a9c656c8e80\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> from CNN noting\u200c that the Biden administration\u2064 is preparing\u200c to\u200c ask Congress\u200d for \u200beven more funding to Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>A majority of Americans, meanwhile, have turned sour on additional support for Ukraine as \u200bthe war\u200b continues to drag on. A poll from CNN last \u200bweek <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/07\/poll-majority-of-americans-oppose-biden-mcconnell-spending-binge-on-ukraine-proxy-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> 55 percent of Americans \u201csay the US Congress should not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/majority-of-americans-agree-no-more-u-s-taxpayer-money-for-ukraine\/\" title=\"Most Americans say: Stop using U.S. taxpayer money for Ukraine.\">authorize additional funding<\/a> to support Ukraine\u2062 vs. 45 percent who say Congress should authorize such funding.\u201d A majority of independent voters came to the same conclusion, with 55 percent opposed to more Ukrainian aid and 56 percent believing that Washington has \u201cdone enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite American opposition to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/while-you-pinch-inflated-pennies-congress-sent-900-of-your-household-income-to-ukraine\/\" title=\"Congress sent 0 of your household income to Ukraine while you pinch inflated pennies.\">committing additional tax dollars<\/a> to the overseas conflict, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/07\/05\/us\/politics\/trump-desantis-ukraine-russia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">few<\/a> candidates in\u200c the presidential race have pledged to pull back. \u200dIn July, former New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4096838-christie-on-ukraine-aid-i-want-them-to-have-every-weapon-they-need-to-be-able-to-win\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, \u201cI want them to have every\u2062 weapon they \u200dneed to be able\u200d to win,\u201d and paid a surprise visit to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/in-line-for-senior-job-at-state-sanders-aide-accuses-biden-of-illegal-military-action\/\" title=\"In Line For Senior Job at State, Sanders Aide Accuses Biden of Illegal Military Action\">war-torn country<\/a> last week.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers on Capitol Hill are also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/disaster-relief-supplemental-ukraine-aid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reportedly<\/a> considering ways to stuff more aid to Ukraine in disaster relief legislation.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Tristan Justice is the western correspondent\u200d for The Federalist and the author of Social Justice Redux, \u200ca conservative newsletter on culture, health, and wellness.
