Greg Steube Has Had Enough, Says It&#8217;s &#8216;Long \u2063Past Time&#8217; to Start Process of Impeaching \u2064Biden<\/h2>\n<p>One\u2062 GOP congressman believes \u2064an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden should begin now.<\/p>\n<p>Those who understand history and the dynamics of power, however, will not hold their breath.<\/p>\n<p>Appearing \u2062on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/video\/6332612997112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox Business\u2019<\/a> \u201cMornings\u2064 with Maria\u201d\u200b on Tuesday, Republican\u200d Rep. Greg \u200dSteube of Florida told host Maria Bartiromo that Biden\u200d must be held\u2062 accountable\u200d for <strong>\u201chigh crimes and misdemeanors\u201d<\/strong> related to his son Hunter\u2063 Biden\u2019s\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-secret-service-intervened-in-hunter-biden-gun-incident-lied-on-background-check-form-report-says\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Secret Service Intervened In Hunter Biden Gun Incident; Lied On Background Check Form, Report Says\">overseas business dealings<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s\u200d already \u2064evidence of \u2026 the bribery\u2062 and corruption of Joe Biden when he was vice president, taking action while he was president to help\u200b out the Chinese Communist Party associates and businesses that his son\u200b was affiliated with,\u201d Steube said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s evidence that he was taking money, and I think it \u200dis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-gun-policies-concern-second-amendment-advocates\/\" title=\"Biden gun policies concern Second Amendment advocates\">long past time<\/a> to begin \u2064impeachment\u2063 proceedings in the House,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bartiromo began the interview by asking \u2064Steube what he thought \u2064of the current state of justice \u2062in Washington. Specifically, she asked him where he\u2063 stood on the Biden case as compared with the treatment former President Donald Trump has received from Biden\u2019s Department of Justice and special counsel\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-presiding-trump-documents-case-smacks-special-counsel-jack-smith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack Smith<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Steube, a member of \u2063both\u200b the House Ways\u200c and \u2063Means Committee and the Judiciary Committee\u2019s \u2063select subcommittee\u200d on the weaponization of government, acknowledged\u200d and explained \u200cthe disparity.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cD.C.\u200d is\u200d completely corrupt and has been weaponized at the highest levels of the government\u200c in \u200bD.C.,\u201d he \u200bsaid. \u201cAnd they\u2019re using against \u200dthe number one threat to take on Joe Biden next year, and that\u2019s Donald Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Bartiromo then asked \u2063the congressman how Republicans\u200c plan to respond. \u201cThe next\u200d question,\u201d she said, \u201chas to be what are you going to do about it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Steube\u2062 replied that the House has plenty \u200cof evidence to begin an impeachment inquiry.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou have evidence of corruption,\u201d\u2064 he said. \u201cYou have evidence of\u2062 bribery. You\u200b have testimony from individuals\u200d who were part of these\u2064 conversations with Joe Biden there. You have evidence of WhatsApp messages that Hunter sent while his dad was sitting there, threatening the Chinese Communist Party that if\u2063 they didn\u2019t send\u2063 the money \u200cthat Joe was gonna get involved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI mean, it is long past time to begin an impeachment inquiry on corruption, bribery \u2064and all \u200cthese different things\u200c that are high crimes and misdemeanors.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Later, Steube acknowledged that the impeachment question rests with House leadership. He cited, for instance, Republican \u2062Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/smoking-gun-jim-jordan-releases-facebook-files-revealing-damning-internal-emails\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jim\u200d Jordan<\/a> of Ohio, chairman of \u200bthe House\u2063 Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Above all, however, House Speaker Kevin \u200dMcCarthy must act.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt is long past time to start the impeachment process,\u201d Steube reiterated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gop-rep-seen-enough-says-time-impeach-biden-expunge-trump-impeachments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Momentum<\/a> toward impeachment has been building for months. In late\u200b July, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kevin-mccarthy-puts-biden-crosshairs-doubles-impeachment-inquiry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">McCarthy<\/a> cautiously suggested that the time for an inquiry might soon arrive.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, however, Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate minority leader,\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mcconnell-warns-republicans-impeaching-biden-not-good-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warned<\/a> against impeaching Biden. It would be \u201cnot good for the \u200bcountry,\u201d McConnell said.<\/p>\n<p>No one need wonder why Republican leaders such as McCarthy and McConnell seem so timid.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, a British\u2064 political theorist explained it all to us more than 300 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>On Feb.\u200b 18, 1721, John Trenchard published the 17th installment of \u201cCato\u2019s Letters.\u201d In this now-classic collection of pseudonymous essays, Trenchard and collaborator Thomas Gordon\u2064 highlighted rampant corruption in \u200bBritish politics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oll.libertyfund.org\/title\/gordon-cato-s-letters-vol-1-november-5-1720-to-june-17-1721-lf-ed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cato No. 17<\/a>, titled \u201cWhat Measures are actually taken by wicked and\u200c desperate Ministers to ruin and enslave \u2062their Country,\u201d had a more universal message.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, Trenchard \u2062noted that the \u2062corrupt behavior of \u201cwicked\u201d public officials \u200din all \u200btimes and places \u2062follows a particular pattern.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>For instance, those \u200bwho\u200b conspire against liberty will try to enrich themselves at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shapiro-stop-surrendering-education-to-the-radical-left\/\" title=\"SHAPIRO: Stop Surrendering Education To The Radical Left\">public expense<\/a>.\u00a0\u201cThey will be ever contriving and forming wicked and dangerous projects, to make the people poor, and themselves rich,\u201d Trenchard wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, to keep the people \u2064distracted, these wicked plotters \u201cwill engage their country\u2063 in ridiculous, expensive, \u2062fantastical wars.\u201d For this same purpose, they \u201cwill create parties in the commonwealth, or keep them up where they already are.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Likewise \u2014 and here we see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/mitch-mcconnell-gets-cold-welcome-home-state-speech-drowned-chants-retire\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">McConnell<\/a> \u200din action \u2014 they will never allow\u200d their fellow plotters and\u2063 plunderers to face consequences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey will not suffer any men, who have once tasted of authority,\u200d though personally their enemies, and whose posts \u200dthey\u200b enjoy, to be called to\u200c an account for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dont-say-marijuana-washington-state-bans-use-of-racist-word-for-cannabis\/\" title=\"DON\u2019T SAY MARIJUANA: Washington State Bans Use of \u2018Racist\u2019 Word for Cannabis\">past crimes<\/a>, though ever so enormous,\u201d Trenchard wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn the contrary,\u201d he\u200b added,\u2063 \u201cthey will form new conspiracies, and \u2063invent new fences for\u200b their\u200c own \u2064impunity and protection; and endeavour to engage such numbers in\u200c their\u2063 guilt, as to set themselves above \u2063all fear of punishment.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Human nature never changes.
