Due to a housing shortage and lack of beds for asylum-seekers, the hotel has been converted into a migrant \u200cshelter\u2064 and intake center.<\/p>\n<p>New York City has also \u2062become a target for conservative governors of U.S. \u200dstates along the southern border\u2064 with Mexico.
