Former \u2063Vice President Mike\u200c Pence became the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/caitlyn-jenner-supports-pathway-to-citizenship-says-border-crisis-motivated-gubernatorial-run\/\" title=\"Caitlyn Jenner Supports Pathway To Citizenship, Says Border Crisis Motivated Gubernatorial Run\">latest candidate<\/a> to reach\u200d the requirements set \u2064forth by the Republican National Committee, with many speculating that he could be the last. Despite this, some \u2063candidates retain hope they could stand on the debate stage\u2064 on Aug. 23.<\/p>\n<h3>Up \u2064for Debate: Trump, DeSantis, and 2024 GOP Hopefuls&#8217; Stances on Abortion<\/h3>\n<p>In order to qualify \u200cfor the debate,\u2064 the RNC demands that candidates meet certain criteria:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Poll \u2064at least 1% in\u2063 a national poll<\/li>\n<li>Have 40,000\u2064 individual\u2062 donors<\/li>\n<li>Sign a \u200dloyalty pledge to support the Republican nominee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here are the other \u2063Republicans with a shot at\u2064 joining the current eight candidates \u2062with an open\u200b spot on \u200bthe debate stage:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson<\/h3>\n<p>One of the \u200bleading Republican critics \u2064of Trump, Hutchinson has \u200cattempted to carve out an \u2064audience of anti-Trump conservatives, \u200cspending much of his campaign criticizing the former\u2063 president. Reaching the\u2064 debate stage is a\u200c critical element\u2064 of his campaign, allowing \u2063him\u2064 to \u2064possibly face off \u2063against Trump, assuming he attends. \u200dIn a\u200c Wednesday interview with Newsmax host Eric Bolling, Trump pondered over \u200dwhether he should attend, addressing the threat of \u2062candidates such as Hutchinson attending and asking him &#8220;nasty questions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Though the former governor has reached the polling threshold, he has yet to reach the donor requirement. With\u200c just\u2064 about two weeks to go, \u2063Hutchinson\u200d is only halfway toward the 40,000 minimum.<\/p>\n<p>Hutchinson told Talk Business and Politics on Sunday that he has only\u2062 gotten money from 20,000 donors, with\u200c half of that coming in the past two weeks. However, he voiced optimism that he could make up the difference before Aug. 23.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going at\u200d a fast pace. And I want to say Arkansas \u2064has just \u2062been\u2062 terrific. They\u2019ve\u2064 been very supportive, they know what\u2019s at stake, they want \u2064me\u2062 on the debate stage. And I\u2019m very, very grateful to them,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Former \u2064Rep. Will Hurd<\/h3>\n<p>The former CIA\u200b spy\u2062 and Texas \u200drepresentative has \u2063also distinguished himself as an anti-Trump Republican, spending much \u200cof his airtime criticizing the former president. Though \u2063he hasn&#8217;t hit the donor threshold yet, Hurd has expressed confidence that he will. However, even if he does, he adamantly maintains that he won&#8217;t take the loyalty pledge,\u2064 possibly disqualifying him.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m not taking the pledge,&#8221;\u200c he told \u2062Fox News\u200d last week.\u2063 &#8220;Donald Trump hasn\u2019t even agreed to take the pledge and whether he\u2019s going to participate. So \u2064a lot \u2064can happen in these next few weeks. My focus is on meeting\u2063 those requirements and being in places like New Hampshire\u200c to\u200d talk to voters.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Miami Mayor Francis Suarez<\/h3>\n<p>Suarez joined the Republican race later than most,\u2062 but claims to have already met the donor threshold. However, he has not yet reached 1% in national polls, though he has expressed confidence that he will soon. He blamed\u200d his\u200c low\u2063 polling on a lack of \u2063recognition,\u200b something he is working to change.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re going to obviously spend \u2062money \u2064over the next couple of\u200c weeks to get it there. But, \u2064you know, for me,\u2062 this\u200c is very\u200b different than for other candidates. I mean, like\u200d I said, a lot of them are well-established national figures,&#8221; Suarez\u200d told\u2063 Fox News\u2019s Your World on Tuesday. &#8220;For me, this is an incremental process getting on the \u2064debate stage, introducing myself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Perry \u2062Johnson<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-other-republicans-have-a-shot-at-attending-the-first-primary-debate\/\" title=\"Which other Republicans have a chance to participate in the initial primary debate?\">long-shot candidate claims<\/a> to have met \u2062the donor\u2062 threshold as of last week, at least\u2063 in part, \u2062by selling $1\u200c T-shirts. However,\u2064 he has failed to poll above \u20640% in \u200cany national poll so\u200c far. In most, he \u2063fails to even \u200dregister or be mentioned, closing him off from the debate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Larry\u2062 Elder<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/country-music-star-john-rich-reveals-rush-limbaughs-secret-act-of-charity-i-never-said-a-word-until-now\/\" title=\"Country Music Star John Rich Reveals Rush Limbaugh\u2019s Secret Act Of Charity: \u2018I Never Said A Word Until Now\u2019\">conservative talk show host<\/a> and former California gubernatorial candidate has made little headway since announcing \u2062his candidacy, apparently failing \u200cto\u2063 meet \u2062either the polling or donor thresholds.
