Rand Paul \u200dof Kentucky is taking action against Dr.\u2062 Anthony Fauci, the former\u200d White House\u200b chief medical adviser and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Paul has referred the\u200b case\u2064 to the U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., in hopes of getting someone to prosecute Fauci for his alleged lies to Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Paul, who frequently clashed with Fauci over COVID-19 policies and Fauci&#8217;s connections to the Wuhan lab, sent a criminal referral to Garland\u200d last month. He \u200dhighlighted Fauci&#8217;s denial of\u2063 funding\u200b gain-of-function research before Congress, his dispassionate\u200d view on the lab\u2062 leak \u2063hypothesis to the press, and his acknowledgment \u200bof \u200dgain-of-function \u200cresearch at the Wuhan\u200c Institute of Virology in private conversations with colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Paul also mentioned that Fauci&#8217;s colleagues have acknowledged his inconsistency.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Mail reported that Graves&#8217; office confirmed receiving the letter, and Paul&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cause-of-death-revealed-for-three-marines-found-dead-near-camp-lejeune\/\" title=\"Cause of death determined for three Marines found deceased near Camp Lejeune.\">office\u200b stated<\/a>\u200d that no action was taken \u200bby Garland regarding the previous referral.<\/p>\n<p>In a heated hearing in July 2021, Paul accused Fauci of lying to Congress and read from the NIH definition of &#8220;gain of function.&#8221; He argued that the \u200devidence contradicted Fauci&#8217;s \u200cclaims and accused him of trying to obscure responsibility for the global pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Fauci responded defiantly, stating that he had never lied before Congress \u200band that Paul \u200bdid not know\u2064 what he was talking \u200cabout.<\/p>\n<p>Paul shared\u2063 evidence on Twitter, including a screenshot of\u200c an email from Fauci expressing concerns about the origins of the virus and the possibility of intentional \u200dmutation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This directly contradicts everything he\u200d said in committee\u2064 hearing to me, denying absolutely that they funded any gain of function, and it\u2019s absolutely a lie.
