Titled the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/scholarships.uncf.org\/Program\/Details\/39e5bfc9-d224-44b5-b935-1d627e27ef26\">Oracle Developer Scholars Program<\/a>\u201d\u2062 and \u2062archived \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/scholarships.uncf.org\/Program\/Details\/39e5bfc9-d224-44b5-b935-1d627e27ef26\">here<\/a>, \u200dthe description says,\u200b \u201cThe Oracle\u200c Developers Scholars Program seeks to identify students to serve as technical development interns during the summer of 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of\u200b the internship, interns will have an opportunity to \u2063receive a $10,000 scholarship for \u2064the 2023-2024 academic\u2064 school year,\u201d it also notes.\u201cThis program seeks Black, Hispanic, and Native American students,\u201d it goes on to say. The program lists the \u2064same race-based\u2064 eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Oracle advertises the two \u200bracially discriminatory internship offerings\u2064 on its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oracle.com\/corporate\/careers\/students-grads\/uncfscholars\/\">website<\/a>, archived <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/zHDin\">here,<\/a> saying, \u201cWe offer two different types of programs for students who\u200c come from underrepresented communities in STEM.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tech company has partnered with the\u2063 United Negro College Fund to give \u201cstudents from\u200d underrepresented communities the opportunity \u2063to launch their career with a world-class internship experience and scholarship funding.\u201d\u2062 It also\u2063 notes donations of more than $12 million \u201cto our\u2063 shared\u2063 mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oracle is set to hold the same \u200dinternship and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-education-lesson-from-covid-lockdowns-school-choice-is-imperative-for-every-child\/\" title=\"The Education Lesson from COVID Lockdowns: School Choice Is Imperative for Every Child\">scholarship opportunities<\/a> in the summer of 2024. Applicants can \u200dapply for the programs on the United Negro College Fund\u2062 website but\u2064 are barred from accessing\u2064 the application if their profile lists \u201cCaucasian\u201d or \u201cAsian Pacific Islander American\u201d\u2064 as their ethnicity.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p>When white and Asian applicants click the \u201capply now\u201d \u2062button on the Oracle Corporate Scholars Program page, they are\u2063 informed, \u201cBased off the following information in your applicant \u200dprofile, you are deemed ineligible for this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class=\"image\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"image\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.gmu.edu\/faculty\/directory\/fulltime\/bernstein_david\">David Bernstein<\/a>,\u200b a professor at George Mason University\u2019s Antonin Scalia\u200d Law School, \u200btold The Daily Wire that, \u200calthough an individual who was barred from applying might have standing to sue, \u201cit\u2019s a tricky question.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt looks like Oracle has delegated selection \u2064of \u200cthe candidate, and that UNCF determines the rules for who can apply. UNCF isn\u2019t \u2064bound by Title VII, because it\u2019s not the employer,\u201d \u2064Berstein \u2062added.\u00a0He went on to note, however,\u2064 \u201cI \u200cthink that\u2062 if someone sued Oracle for \u2064hiring a grant recipient, \u2062knowing that whites and Asians were excluded, \u200dthat\u2064 person would likely win.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Oracle is\u2064 not \u2063the only tech company that has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/oracle-internship-scholarship-opportunities-bar-whites-and-asians-on-the-basis-of-race\/\" title=\"Oracle Internship and Scholarships exclude Whites and Asians based on race.\">hosted \u200dracially\u200b discriminatory internship opportunities<\/a> \u200dthat disadvantage white and\u200b Asian people. A <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/google-partners-with-top-universities-for-this-prestigious-fellowship-lawyers-say-the-racial-and-gender-quotas-its-imposing-are-illegal\/\">report<\/a> from\u2063 the Washington \u2062Free Beacon found that Google \u2064put a cap on the \u2062number of white and Asian students\u2064 that universities could nominate for \u200da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/medical-professor-warned-colleagues-that-schools-racial-preferences-were-illegal-and-he-was-removed-from-directorship-now-hes-suing\/\" title=\"Medical Professor Warned Colleagues That School\u2019s Racial Preferences Were Illegal And He Was Removed From Directorship. Now He\u2019s Suing.\">fellowship program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/campus\/a-microsoft-fellowship-caps-the-number-of-white-and-asian-applicants-lawyers-say-thats-illegal\/\">Microsoft<\/a> \u2064also capped the number of white and Asian students that could \u200bbe nominated for one\u2063 of the tech company\u2019s fellowships. Meanwhile, pharmaceutical giant <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/pfizer-hit-with-lawsuit-over-fellowship-that-excludes-whites-and-asians\/\">Pfizer<\/a> \u200dwas hit with a lawsuit over a\u2063 fellowship that racially discriminates against \u200cwhites and Asians.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s\u2064 also Voya \u2064Investment Management, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/social-justice\/2023\/04\/20\/investment-management-firm-voya-excludes-whites-from-internship-scholarship\/\">hosted<\/a> a Financial Services Diversity Scholarship <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.ph\/V8HKm#\">Program<\/a> \u2064that did not allow white applicants, with an eligibility requirement reading \u201cSelf-identify as Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; American Indian or Alaska Native American; Asian; Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific \u2064Islander; or multi-racial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oracle did not\u200b respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oracle, a tech industry giant, partnered with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) to offer scholarships and internships.
