However, she only took her 4-year-old inside, leaving the infant\u200b behind in\u2062 the sweltering car.<\/p>\n<p>Tragically, when she returned, the 3-month-old baby was unresponsive. Desperate,\u2063 she rushed the child into the mental health \u200dfacility, where \u2062nurses attempted CPR.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency responders from the Houston police and fire department arrived at the scene and made every effort to save the child&#8217;s life. Sadly, the baby was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Houston Police\u200b Assistant Chief Yasar Bashir described the incident\u200b as an \u2064&#8221;avoidable&#8221; tragedy, emphasizing\u2062 that leaving a\u200c child in a car, especially an infant, even for \u200ca moment, is extremely dangerous due to the rapid increase in body temperature.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cHouston gets very hot \u2064and under no \u2063circumstances you \u200cshould leave a child in a car, not even for a moment,\u201d said Bashir. \u201cEspecially an infant \u200dor a child, the body temperature goes up very quickly.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Harris County medical examiner will conduct an\u200d autopsy to determine the cause of death.
