Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) was hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon after falling at her San Francisco \u200chome, her spokesman \u2063confirmed to the Washington\u200b Examiner on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A spokesman for Feinstein, \u200b90, said the senator briefly \u200bwent\u200b to the hospital as a precautionary measure after a minor fall. After years of\u2063 criticisms from those in \u2062her party who said she was\u200d no longer up to the\u2064 job, Feinstein said at the time of \u200dher\u200b diagnosis in \u200dFebruary that she wouldn&#8217;t seek reelection in 2024, though she vowed\u2064 to serve out \u2064the remaining 20\u200b months of her \u2063term.<\/p>\n<p>Facing resignation calls from House \u200cDemocrats and frustration from her Senate\u2064 colleagues \u2062that was spilling out \u2064into public view, a \u200dwheelchair-bound Feinstein returned to \u200cthe Capitol\u200b in mid-May\u200c looking frail and at times \u2064disoriented.<\/p>\n<p>Feinstein has remained\u200d adamant \u2063that she will\u200b not \u2062resign before\u2062 the end \u2062of her term despite\u200d concerns about her \u2064fitness to \u200bserve and has described being a senator as her &#8220;calling.&#8221; The\u2063 90-year-old\u2063 has largely been kept out of \u2062public view \u2063since then, being \u200bwhisked to and from votes and committee\u200d hearings\u200d by staff \u200cwithout taking many questions from journalists.<\/p>\n<p>The senator\u2062 has taken\u2063 part in some Hill activities since her return, including a photo shoot for National Seersucker \u200cDay in early June, though\u200d she hasn&#8217;t \u2062been out and about in her home state since late last year.<\/p>\n<p>Feinstein was slated to appear at\u200d an event in San Francisco last Wednesday, a gathering her office indicated\u2063 she&#8217;d be in attendance\u2062 for the day before, but was a no-show.
