These initiatives, implemented\u2064 by the Biden administration as part of its policy\u200d to minimize detention, are among the most lenient programs offered to illegal immigrants by the U.S. \u200cgovernment. \u200dDespite being \u200clegally mandated to publish the number of\u200d illegal immigrants enrolled in each program, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has yet to do so.<\/p>\n<p>The lack of\u2063 transparency is particularly concerning considering\u2062 the generous benefits provided\u200b by these programs. Given\u200c the Department of Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas&#8217;s policy of significantly \u200breducing interior enforcement, this lack of transparency appears deliberate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>House Republicans are taking action to end these programs by leveraging their power \u2063of the purse. The 2024 Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill, which \u200dpassed through committee last month, removed funding for these programs \u2062following the urging of conservative groups like the Heritage Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The American people should be outraged \u200cthat their\u200b tax dollars are being funneled through ICE to provide social services to illegal aliens,&#8221; said R.J. Hauman, president of the National Immigration Center for Enforcement. &#8220;Instead of supporting ICE in \u200cenforcing the law, the Biden administration is actively undermining them and turning to radical NGOs with no law enforcement background.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This battle \u200cover the two programs coincides with cities across the United States struggling to accommodate the millions of illegal \u200bimmigrants who have entered the country \u2064since\u200b President Joe Biden took office. New York City mayor Eric Adams recently allocated nearly $300 million to house just 5,000 illegal \u200dimmigrants, stating that \u200bthe city has run \u2064out \u2064of space.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of \u200bHomeland Security did not respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Although federal law requires the Department of Homeland \u2063Security to\u2064 detain all aliens \u2062who arrive \u2062in the United States illegally &#8220;throughout the completion of applicable proceedings,&#8221; the high volume of border crossings often makes it challenging to adhere to this rule. In 2004, ICE \u2064established Alternative \u200bto Detention programs \u2062to ensure proper removal of aliens with deportation orders.<\/p>\n<p>According to federal data, over 322,700 aliens\u2064 were placed in Alternative to Detention programs by the end of the 2022 fiscal year. However, this figure does not include the number \u200bof aliens enrolled\u200d in the Case Management Pilot Program and the Young Adult Case Management Program.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the Biden administration appointed Church World Service as the lead nonprofit for the Case Management Pilot \u200bProgram, which drew \u2062criticism from\u200d Republicans. Church World Service has a history of far-left rhetoric, including calls for the abolition of ICE, and co-signed a letter in\u200c 2021 urging the Biden administration to end the prioritization of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/adopt-a-gang-banger-greg-gutfeld-has-a-solution-for-democrats-who-dont-want-gang-members-deported\/\" title=\"\u2018Adopt-A-Gang-Banger\u2019: Greg Gutfeld Has A Solution For Democrats Who Don\u2019t Want Gang Members Deported\">deporting gang members<\/a> and \u2063those convicted\u200d of\u200d aggravated felonies.<\/p>\n<p>Republican senators Roger Marshall (Kan.) and Bill\u200d Hagerty (Tenn.) demanded more details from senior DHS officials regarding the criteria for considering an alien for the Case Management Pilot Program, as well as the social services provided by the\u2064 program.\u2064 They also expressed\u2062 concerns about taxpayer money being \u200dspent on NGOs\u200c that advocate for frustrating and dismantling immigration enforcement\u2062 and border security.<\/p>\n<p>The Young Adult\u200d Case Management Program,\u2063 targeting 18- and 19-year-olds, offers a network of age-appropriate and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-eyes-plan-to-more-easily-free-young-adult-illegal-aliens-into-u-s\/\" title=\"Biden Eyes Plan to More Easily Free Young Adult Illegal Aliens into U.S.\">culturally sensitive community resources<\/a>, including trauma-informed care.
