However, he\u200d would like to\u200c have \u2062both his counsel John\u200d Lauro and Todd\u2064 Blanche at the hearing,&#8221;\u200c their response said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Todd Blanche is not available on \u200bThursday, since he must appear for a court\u2064 proceeding in the \u2062protection brought against the\u200c same defendant, \u2062President Donald, by the Special Counsel in [the Southern District of] Florida,&#8221; they added. &#8220;Mr. Lauro\u2063 is \u2063available on\u2063 Thursday, with a preference for\u200c an afternoon setting.\u200d However, since we lost Friday as an option, we would respectfully request a setting\u2062 on Monday (after\u2062 12:00 p.m.) or \u200bTuesday (all day) to allow for both Mr. Blanche and Mr. Lauro to \u200dbe present.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The joint filing did not explain why \u200bFriday was no longer an option. The Daily Wire reached out to Trump&#8217;s lawyers for comment on the judge&#8217;s order.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Smith&#8217;s team filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/663186345\/Motion-for-Order-of-Protection-Trump-Trial\">request<\/a> for a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scribd.com\/document\/663186343\/Proposed-Text-Order-of-Protection-Trump-Trial#fullscreen&#038;from_embed\">protective order<\/a> \u200dfollowing Trump&#8217;s arraignment in Washington, D.C. The \u2062request\u2062 came after the former president posted on Truth Social, &#8220;If you go after me, I&#8217;m coming after you!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO \u2063GET THE DAILY WIRE\u200d APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors, aiming to\u2062 provide the defense with discovery\u200c materials as soon as possible,\u2064 requested various restrictions\u200d to prevent the disclosure of sensitive evidence. They warned that Trump\u2064 revealing certain information publicly could have a harmful \u200deffect\u2063 on witnesses \u200dand the fair administration of justice in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s lawyers filed their response to Smith&#8217;s proposed \u2063order just before the deadline, \u2062asking for \u200ca <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jack-smith-rebuffs-trump-bid-for-narrower-protected-order-judge-responds\/\" title=\"Jack Smith rejects Trump's request for a narrower protective order; judge reacts.\">narrower protective order<\/a> and expressing concerns about Trump&#8217;s First Amendment rights. They also requested\u200c a hearing at the earliest convenient date.<\/p>\n<p>After Smith&#8217;s team rejected the counter-proposal by Trump&#8217;s lawyers, Judge Chutkan ruled that both sides must work out possible\u200b hearing dates and times.<\/p>\n<p>Trump, who is running for\u200d another term in the White House in 2024, \u200dhas pleaded not guilty to\u2062 charges related to an alleged \u2062effort to overturn the results \u2062of the last presidential contest. In a post on Truth Social, Trump raised concerns about Judge Chutkan&#8217;s past work at a\u200b law \u2064firm \u2063that employed\u200c Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bformer president has denied any wrongdoing\u2063 and claims to be the target of\u2063 a &#8220;witch hunt&#8221; as he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-rejects-trump-lawyers-request-for-protective-order-hearing-delay-in-2020-election-case\/\" title=\"Judge denies Trump lawyers' request to delay protective order hearing in 2020 election case.\">faces multiple criminal indictments<\/a> at the federal and state levels, including charges in another case brought by Smith.
