The figure also missed estimates of\u200d $48.38, according\u2063 to Visible Alpha.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u200c really want to price competitively,\u201d Risher said in \u2063an \u200cinterview, days after\u2064 rising fears of \u200da price war slammed Uber shares \u200dand overshadowed the company\u2019s positive results. <\/p>\n<p>He added that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lyft-falls-as-fears-of-price-war-with-uber-overshadow-strong-forecast\/\" title=\"Lyft's stock drops due to concerns of price war with Uber despite positive outlook.\">rides receiving prime-time charge<\/a>, or surge pricing, fell 35% sequentially in the second \u200dquarter,\u2063 while the average per-mile fare was\u200d 10% lower from a year ago.  \u2064   That\u200c lower pricing, however, helped spur an 8.2%\u200d jump in the number of active riders on \u2064the platform \u2063to the highest in nearly \u2062three years, as Lyft also benefited from a\u2063 travel rebound and more\u200b office commutes.<\/p>\n<p>Third\u2063 Bridge analyst \u200bNicholas Cauley, however, said the company\u2019s efforts \u200dto offer more competitive \u200bpricing could trigger higher driver incentives, affecting\u2063 its\u2064 profit target.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe timeline for profitability could be extended as Lyft\u2019s management is focused on winning back drivers and riders,\u201d Cauley\u200d said.<\/p>\n<p>For the third quarter ending September, Lyft expects revenue in the range of $1.13 billion to $1.15 billion, higher than estimates of $1.09 billion, according to Refinitiv data. \u2064 <\/p>\n<p>The company, which has promised profitability by 2023-end, forecast adjusted core earnings of\u200b $75 million to $85 million and a margin of 7%. Analysts were expecting $49.7 million.<\/p>\n<p>Second-quarter revenue rose 3%\u2063 to $1.02 billion, in line with estimates, while adjusted EBITDA of $41 million was well above expectations of\u200d $27.9\u2064 million. \u200bOn an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/economists-investors-concerned-over-increased-inflation-fueled-by-stimulus-payments\/\" title=\"Economists, investors concerned over increased inflation fueled by stimulus payments\">adjusted basis<\/a>, it earned 16 cents per share, compared with a 1-cent loss estimate.<\/p>\n<p>Lyft\u200b is planning to do away with prime-time pricing for a more flat structure and is \u2063expecting\u200c prices to remain at a\u2063 similar level to the\u2063 latest quarter.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c(Prime-time \u2064pricing) is a bad form\u2062 of price raising,\u201d Risher\u200c said on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tencent-shifts-focus-to-majority-deals-overseas-gaming-assets-for-growth-sources\/\" title=\"Tencent shifts focus to majority deals, overseas gaming assets for growth-sources\">post-earnings call<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s particularly bad\u2063 because riders hate it with\u2063 a fiery passion.
