This comes after lawmakers were briefed on multiple security incidents involving the company.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Security Breaches Prompt Concern<\/h3>\n<p>The Transportation Security\u2062 Administration (TSA)\u2064 informed lawmakers\u200b about two separate incidents where passengers\u200b were able to bypass security checkpoints without proper identification or membership in the Clear program. \u2064Although these individuals\u200d were unable to board an aircraft, the breaches raised serious concerns.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The breaches occurred in January \u2063and \u200cMarch of this year, with\u200c one incident involving a passenger\u200c who used a boarding pass found in the garbage to\u200d bypass a security checkpoint. Politico reported these details, prompting lawmakers to call for\u200c increased oversight from the TSA.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>Lawmakers Demand Action<\/h3>\n<p>Representative Bennie \u200cThompson (D-MS), \u2063the ranking\u2062 member of the committee overseeing the Department of Homeland Security, expressed his concerns about Clear&#8217;s lax security controls. He stated, &#8220;It is apparent that the company puts its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-dem-defends-multimillion-dollar-stock-holding-that-even-pelosi-thinks-is-too-controversial\/\" title=\"Virginia Dem Defends Multimillion-Dollar Stock Holding That Even Pelosi Thinks Is Too Controversial\">bottom line ahead<\/a> of the security\u200b of our aviation system.&#8221; Thompson urged \u2063the TSA to address these\u2063 vulnerabilities promptly.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson added, &#8220;Each passing day the homeland is at greater risk until\u200b TSA acts\u200c to completely close\u2062 these security\u200c vulnerabilities that it was alerted to last year. We cannot\u2064 afford any\u200b additional delay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In response to a \u200bprevious incident where\u200c a passenger used another person&#8217;s identity to access Clear, the TSA has\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lawmakers-raise-airport-security-concerns-after-breaches-involving-private-company\/\" title=\"Lawmakers express worry over airport security following private company breaches.\">implemented additional \u2063identification checks<\/a> for enrolled travelers. Previously, members could bypass TSA identification reviews\u200d by using biometric scans at Clear kiosks.<\/p>\n<p>The House Homeland Security Committee was briefed on this issue, and Representatives Thompson\u200b and John Katko (R-NY) sent a letter to TSA\u200d Administrator David\u2063 Pekoske, urging the\u2064 agency to require all passengers to have their identities verified\u200d by TSA\u200c officers.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson and other senators are also \u200ccalling for Clear passengers to verify their identities with a TSA agent, potentially rendering the company&#8217;s services obsolete. Clear currently charges $189 \u2063per year for expedited security screening.<\/p>\n<p>Clear spokesperson \u200dAnnabel Walsh defended\u200b the company, stating that the incidents\u200d were isolated and not related to their biometric system.
