Because, trying to push a political agenda in such a way obviously is not the way to\u200c go because \u2026 it\u2019s hurt sales so much,\u201d Busch said during an interview Monday night on Fox News\u2019 \u201cHannity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLearn what sells in America.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnderstand what the \u2062beer business is like, and sell \u2062to those people in that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Check out the interview here:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/video_id\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That\u2019s about as obvious\u2062 a piece of business \u2064advice as \u201cbuy low, sell high,\u201d but it was\u2064 clearly forgotten \u200cby the ad execs at Bud Light, who imploded the country\u2019s best-selling beer in April\u200d by partnering with a transgender influencer and publicly insulting the company\u2019s own customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I have this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/anheuser-busch-heir-has-advice-for-management-at-bud-light-following-huge-mistake-with-dylan-mulvaney\/\" title=\"Anheuser-Busch heir advises Bud Light management after 'big blunder' with Dylan Mulvaney.\">super clear mandate<\/a>,\u201d Alissa Heinerscheid<strong>, <\/strong>the\u200b now-former vice president of marketing for Bud Light, said \u200cin\u200c a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/viral-video-bud-light-exec-reveals-woke-company-feels-past-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">now-infamous interview<\/a>, explaining how she wanted to \u201cevolve and elevate\u201d the brand.<\/p>\n<p>Turns out, in a development that would\u200b surprise pretty much no one who had beer drinkers for actual friends instead of \u200dfocus groups, Bud Light drinkers\u200d weren\u2019t\u200b exactly interested in being \u201cevolved\u200d and elevated.\u201d\u2063 And they certainly weren\u2019t interested in\u2062 it if it\u200c meant publicly affiliating with Dylan Mulvaney, the previously unknown man whose two biggest claims \u2063to fame are pretending he\u2019s a woman and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bud-lights-dylan-mulvaney-fiasco-disaster-going-taught-college-business-classes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">destroying Bud Light<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company greatly miscalculated what they\u2064 thought was being inclusive, but it really was divisive,\u201d Busch told \u200dHannity. \u201cI think my family \u2014 they lived\u2062 by the motto \u2018making friends is our business\u2019 \u2014 \u00a0They believed that bringing people together, making it a sociable, fun, beer-drinking experience was the way to go.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople that drink Bud Light, that drink beer, really don\u2019t relate to that kind of advertising. Sexual minorities spend money, too, but making Mulvaney the face of the company, however briefly, \u200cis not a way to get any product into the mainstream of the American market \u2014 much less a product like \u2063beer.<\/p>\n<div id=\"in-article-related\" class=\"in-article-more inner-content\">\n<div class=\"in-article-more-label\">Related:<\/div>\n<div class=\"in-article-more-right\">\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/flashback-soros-thinks-god-sees-usa-threat-world\/\" data-type='Internal link' data-type-location='in-content-related'>Flashback: Soros Thinks of Himself as\u2063 a God, Sees\u200c USA as a &#8216;Threat to the World&#8217;<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Anheuser-Busch has been owned since 2008 by the Belgium-based\u2063 international conglomerate InBev.\u200c Of course,\u200c Bud Light isn\u2019t \u2062the beer giant\u2019s\u2063 only brand, but it was the United States top-selling beer for decades, as <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/bud-light-beer-modelo-sales-35db706836ca38d5fe194c93a3f641ff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Associated Press<\/a> \u200dreported in June. And while the beer\u2063 that replaced it at No. 1, Modelo \u2062Especiale, \u2063is also an\u200b InBev brand, there\u2019s\u2063 no denying that losing market share to \u2062competitors like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/coors-shows-bud-light-done-new-commercial-brings-yellowstone-star-help\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Coors Light<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/4-beer-brands-raking-bud-light-continues-bleed-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yeungling<\/a> has hurt \u200bthe overall bottom line.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/anheuser-busch-offloads-8-beer-brands-bud-light-backlash-continues-take-toll\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bud Light\u2019s future<\/a> depends on the forgiveness \u200cof American beer drinkers. The company\u2019s tried\u200c to recover on its own\u200b steam \u2014 issuing a\u2064 statement, putting out\u200d ads \u2014 but the efforts haven\u2019t taken hold.<\/p>\n<p>(That\u2019s probably because the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/re-wrote-bud-lights-pitiful-apology-letter-now-mocks-instead-american-people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement was ludicrous<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bud-light-humiliated-latest-ad-bombs-features-men-grunting-another-pathetic-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ads \u200cwere condescending<\/a> to the point of being insulting all over again,\u200d but they\u2019re trying.)<\/p>\n<p>The best \u2062it can do is maybe try to get back to the roots Busch described at \u200bthe top of his interview with Hannity. After all, the man isn\u2019t just the scion of\u200d a\u200b fortune built on beer; he\u2019s opening a new brewery \u200bin St. Louis, according\u200b to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/life-entertainment\/local\/books\/billy-busch-tells-his-side-of-growing-up-in-famous-and-rivalrous-st-louis-beer\/article_16fb1fe0-3014-11ee-ad0d-63198aca355e.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Louis Post-Dispatch<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He might put the family\u2019s historic \u2064lore \u2064to better use than Anheuser-Busch\u2019s current owners.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s founders and their heirs, he said, \u201cwouldn\u2019t ever have gotten as political as this. And let\u2019s \u2062face it, the transgender topic \u2064today has become very, very political.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not \u200cwise for a beer company to get\u2064 into that game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2063 think that it\u2019s difficult enough to be advertising beer \u2014\u200b and to \u200dtry to do it and be \u200bpolitical \u200cabout \u2062it.
