Version: 4.0.47--><h2>A\u200c Tragic Tale of Kindness: Taco\u200d Bell Manager&#8217;s Good Deed Ends in Tragedy<\/h2>\n<p>A young\u2064 restaurant manager in Michigan who had a big heart and was driven for success through hard work is dead after police say he \u200cwas shot\u2064 by a\u2064 homeless man he \u2064had invited to stay with\u200c him at his apartment.<\/p>\n<p>The story is a\u2063 tragic reminder that as much as many of \u200dus would like to help \u2064those around us who\u200c are\u2064 struggling, there is reason to be cautious\u200d with \u200cpeople who are living on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/californians-promise-massive-handout-get-homeless-leave-tent-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the streets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If \u2064you\u2019ve \u2064driven through \u200dany <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shapiro-for-the-left-bigotry-is-a-tool\/\" title=\"SHAPIRO: For The Left, Bigotry Is A Tool\">major metropolitan area<\/a> in recent years, you\u2019ve probably\u200c seen \u2064the tent\u2064 cities that are home to \u2062dozens if not hundreds of people.<\/p>\n<p>Their lives are objectively tragic, and wanting \u200bto help each and every \u2062one of them is understandable.<\/p>\n<p>But many of these people are living <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/alaska-mayor-proposes-solution-homeless-city-one-way-ticket-los-angeles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the\u2064 way they are<\/a> because they are mentally unwell, they are drug addicts or \u2063they have found themselves \u2062ostracized from society\u2062 for \u2064valid reasons.<\/p>\n<h3>A Heart of Gold<\/h3>\n<p>According to the mother of\u200c 27-year-old Olufemi \u201cLouis\u201d Stafford, her son was\u200b a\u200d person who\u200b didn\u2019t like to watch people suffer.<\/p>\n<p>Leola Stafford spoke to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.macombdaily.com\/2023\/08\/04\/mother-of-shooting-victim-he-paid-for-good-deed-with-his-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Macomb Daily<\/a> in \u200bsuburban \u2063Detroit last\u2064 week after police said \u200ba \u206224-year-old homeless man her son had employed at the \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ex-nba-players-downward-spiral-ends-handcuffs-taco-bell-employees-caught-act-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Taco Bell<\/a> he managed\u2062 shot him \u2062to death at\u200c his home in Chesterfield Township \u200don July 29.<\/p>\n<p>The\u200b report said Stafford had \u200bbeen promoted to a\u2064 management \u200bposition \u200dafter working 60 \u200cto 70 hours per \u2064week at the restaurant to\u200d pay for his apartment.<\/p>\n<p>He gave Dejon Drake, who \u2064was living in\u200d a tent behind the restaurant, a job and\u200b somewhere \u2063to stay \u2014 his \u200bown\u2063 home, the Daily reported.<\/p>\n<p>However, when Drake allegedly showed signs of aggression both at work and at home, Stafford asked him to leave \u200chis apartment,\u2064 his mother \u2063said.<\/p>\n<p>A \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/taco-bell-manager-let-homeless-man-stay-with-him-then-cops-say-it-turned-deadly\/\" title=\"Taco Bell manager shelters homeless man, tragic outcome follows.\">physical altercation ensued<\/a> \u200bbetween\u200c the two men, and it \u2062resulted in Stafford being shot to death and Drake being charged with second-degree <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-addresses-murder-suspect-run-nearly-40-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">murder<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-charges-are-nothing-but-a-diversion\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's charges are merely a distraction.\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/100-national-guardsmen-ready-for-possible-unrest-in-minnesota\/\" title=\"100 National Guardsmen Ready For Possible Unrest in Minnesota\">felony firearm<\/a> possession<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">According to the\u200d Macomb\u2062 County Prosecutor\u2019s Office,\u200c Dejon Drake,\u2063 of Eastpointe, is \u2064charged with \u2062second-degree murder, carrying a\u2062 concealed weapon, and felony firearm. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/stPFLJ09Zz\">https:\/\/t.co\/stPFLJ09Zz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 CBS \u200bDetroit\u200b (@CBSDetroit) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CBSDetroit\/status\/1686731099089580032?\">August 2, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe \u200cwas helping a coworker who was \u2062down on his luck,\u201d Leola Stafford told the \u2064Daily.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy son didn\u2019t deserve to die,\u201d the grieving \u200cmother\u200d said. \u201cHe\u2064 was helping a coworker\u200b who \u200dwas \u200ddown on his\u2064 luck. He \u200dhad a good heart. Louis said, \u2063\u2018Hey, you don\u2019t have to \u2063be out there.
