Sheldon Whitehouse \u200b(D-RI) in supporting the\u2063 DISCLOSE Act, which would require super\u2063 PACs and 501(c)(4) nonprofit groups like Majority \u2062Forward to disclose their donors who contribute more \u2062than $10,000 \u2064in a given\u200c election cycle.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There&#8217;s nothing wrong with so-called dark money \u2014 \u2064the American political system owes\u2063 its\u200d existence to anonymous \u2063political speech,&#8221; stated Tom Jones, president of \u200bthe conservative \u2064American Accountability Foundation watchdog group. &#8220;What is wrong \u2014 and frankly embarrassing \u2014 is Senators \u2063Schumer and \u2064Whitehouse blathering on \u200cabout the boogeyman of dark money one day\u200c and using it to prop up\u2062 their majority the next.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Close Ties and\u200c Financial Transactions<\/h3>\n<p>Majority Forward&#8217;s\u2063 president, J.B. Poersch, also\u200d serves as the head \u200dof Senate Majority PAC, and the two entities share personnel \u200dand office \u200cspace. Additionally, Majority Forward has paid Senate Majority PAC for insurance, IT security, and \u2063salaries, as indicated in campaign finance \u2062disclosures.<\/p>\n<p>Since the beginning of 2023, Majority Forward \u2062has directed $8.75 million to Senate Majority PAC, including a $6 million transfer in\u200d June. Going back to 2015, the \u200dnonprofit group&#8217;s\u2064 payments to\u200c the PAC total $136 million,\u2063 according to a review of \u2062federal filings by the\u200c Washington Examiner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is \u2062nothing\u200b but a hypocritical and \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chuck-schumer-tied-pac-took-81m-from-dark-money-group-as-he-decried-special-interests\/\" title=\"Schumer-linked PAC received M from 'dark money' group while criticizing special interests.\">pathetic hit job coming directly<\/a> from Mitch \u2062McConnell and National GOP \u200cleaders who have\u2062 taken every\u2064 chance to enable dark \u200cmoney groups to support their unpopular agenda and fringe candidates,&#8221; responded Sarah \u2064Guggenheimer, a \u200cspokeswoman for Senate Majority PAC.<\/p>\n<h3>Grants and Pop-Up\u200d Super PACs<\/h3>\n<p>Between July 2019 and June 2022, Majority Forward received \u200dover $271 million and distributed\u200b grants\u2064 to various <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fox-news-is-a-uniquely-destructive-force-leftists-call-for-boycott-of-fnc\/\" title=\"\u2018Fox News Is A Uniquely Destructive Force\u2019: Leftists Call For Boycott Of FNC\">left-wing activist groups<\/a>, including the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, \u200cEmily&#8217;s List, Priorities USA, and the Lincoln Project, an anti-Donald Trump super PAC with ties to the Democratic Party, according to tax \u2063forms.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022,\u2064 Majority Forward also received $1 million from America Votes, a liberal \u2063voting rights advocacy group, and shared an office and personnel with the Right to Vote Foundation, according to corporate \u2062records in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u200b same year, Majority Forward fully funded a pop-up super PAC called 53 Peaks with\u200d $3 million. This super PAC sponsored \u2064ads against Joe O&#8217;Dea, who ran unsuccessfully against Sen. Michael Bennet \u2064(D-CO), according to disclosures. \u2063Majority Forward also spent \u200bhundreds of thousands of\u200c dollars in 2022 on ads\u200d targeting Sen. Ron Johnson \u2064(R-WI) through a Facebook page called Wisconsin Forward.<\/p>\n<h3>Continued Financial Support<\/h3>\n<p>Senate \u200cMajority PAC has also received over $16 \u200dmillion between February and \u200bJune from \u200c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lincoln-project-founder-used-donor-cash-to-shore-up-shoddy-finances\/\" title=\"Lincoln Project Founder Used Donor Cash to Shore Up Shoddy Finances\">wealthy liberal donors<\/a>, including George Soros, a\u200b Hungarian American philanthropist,\u2063 as it prepares for the 2024 Senate elections, according to disclosures.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the pro-GOP \u200cSenate Leadership \u200bFund super PAC, which is aligned with Senate Minority Leader \u200dMitch McConnell\u2063 (R-KY), the Democratic-aligned committee \u2062spent hundreds of millions of dollars combined on\u200c the 2022 elections. Senate Leadership Fund has \u2064close\u200b ties\u200d to One Nation, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit \u2063group that served\u2063 as\u2062 its primary funder in 2022.<\/p>\n<h3>Selective Criticism<\/h3>\n<p>Schumer has previously criticized\u2063 the\u200b Judicial Crisis Network, a right-leaning 501(c)(4)\u200b courts group, for &#8220;concealing \u2063their donors&#8221; after it contributed significant funds to support\u200c the nominations of Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch. However, the senator\u200d has \u200dnot\u200b taken financial \u200caction against left-leaning dark money hubs like the court-packing group Demand Justice, which provided funds in 2022 to support the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.
