The men were also carrying \u200bweapons and armor.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes as the Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/biden-admin-withdraws-troops-from-border-amid-new-migrant-spike\/\">pulls<\/a> troops from the southern border.<\/p>\n<p>An anonymous Defense \u200cDepartment official <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/us-military-remove-troops-mexico-border-immigration-b82a32f5c82c421f1c645a64715dabb1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the Associated Press last week that the Pentagon \u2063will pull 1,100 troops from the border by August 8. Defense Secretary \u2063Lloyd Austin first sent the troops in May for a 90-day stint amid the migrant surges surrounding the expiration of Title 42, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/two-congressmen-take-secret-trip-to-afghanistan-to-see-situation-firsthand\/\" title=\"Two Congressmen Take Secret Trip To Afghanistan To See Situation Firsthand\">pandemic-era rule<\/a> that allowed officials to turn migrants away. Austin has authorized 400 troops to stay at the border\u2063 through August 31.<\/p>\n<p>The White House is also <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-admin-waives-more-migrants-through-southern-border-than-promised\/\">ignoring<\/a> its \u200down limits\u200c on asylum-seekers and allowing more migrants to enter the country, which comes amid a surge in border crossings, the <em>Texas Tribune<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texastribune.org\/2023\/08\/02\/texas-mexico-border-arrests-biden-migration-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>U.S. agents made more than 130,000 arrests along\u200b the Mexico border \u2062last month, \u2063preliminary figures show, \u200bup from 99,545 in June.\u200d Authorities allowed an additional 50,000 migrants to cross into the United States in July, primarily through Biden administration programs allowing asylum seekers to schedule\u200b appointments at U.S. ports of entry using \u200dthe CBP One mobile application.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The spike in illegal crossings was \u200dmost pronounced in the\u200d deserts of southern Arizona, despite daytime temperatures that often surpassed 110 degrees.
