Morrisey&#8217;s call for a change\u2064 of venue is supported by many Republicans who believe that the D.C. district\u2064 court is an unfair tribunal for the former president.<\/p>\n<p>Morrisey&#8217;s tweet last week criticizing the politicized nature of the case further\u2063 solidifies his stance. He argues that if prosecutors are confident in their case, they should not oppose moving the trial to West \u2063Virginia.<\/p>\n<p>Trump himself has also expressed his concerns \u2063about receiving a fair trial in D.C. He is seeking a change of\u200d venue and the recusal of the presiding judge, Tanya Chutkan,\u2062 an appointee of former President\u2064 Barack Obama.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is considered a top\u2062 challenger to Trump in the GOP primary race, also supports a venue change to ensure a fair trial.
