I\u2019m simply\u200c a realist. \u200bI understand that human nature is \u200cwhat it is, and therefore people tend to\u2063 act a certain way, and that\u2064 results in many predictable conclusions. It\u2019s\u2063 not my fault that those conclusions are \u2063often depressing, enraging, perplexing, or disappointing. I wish it wasn\u2019t this way, but I prefer to see things as \u2064they\u2062 are rather than as I wish they would be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In other words, again, I\u2019m a \u2063realist. <\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Embracing Optimism, Only to Be Disappointed<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But every once in a blue moon I will put my realist glasses down and try on\u200d a\u2062 pair with \u2064a rosier tint. I will try to \u200cadopt the\u2064 mentality of someone\u200d is more naively\u200c optimistic. And, \u2062every time I do this, I regret it. \u200bCase in point. This weekend, the pop star\u200c Ne-Yo got a lot of attention for some comments he \u200dmade during an\u200b appearance on a show called VladTV. \u2063During the conversation with \u2062host \u2064Gloria\u200d Velez, the singer was asked about his views on gender ideology. He responded with a lengthy and rather well spoken monologue on the topic. You could tell that this is a subject he\u2019d spent some time thinking about. And\u200b his thoughts were quite\u200c lucid on the topic:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c1st and foremost, I CONDEMN \u2064NO ONE. Who\u200d am I \u2064to condemn anybody? Your life, your kids, your\u2062 choice. I was asked a question and I answered it. My \u200dopinion is mine. I\u2019m\u200b not asking anybody to agree with me nor am I telling you what you \u200ccan and\u200d cannot\u200d do with your children. I stated my opinion on a matter and that\u2019s that\u2026 \u200bWhy should I care if my opinion upsets you when you don\u2019t care if yours upsets anyone? Opinions aren\u2019t special.\u200d We all have\u200b one. People voice them regularly whether they\u2019re asked or \u2062not. I was actually asked mine. Agreeing to disagree is not a declaration\u2064 of\u200d war. Y\u2019all \u200cdo whatever the hell y\u2019all want \u200dto. But my feelings\u2063 on the\u200c matter are mine. Same \u200dway yours are yours. \u200cMeanwhile, I love \u2063everybody. Don\u2019t agree with some\u2062 of y\u2019all\u2019s ideals \u2026 but love you no less.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, if you inspect this statement closely, you will can\u200b see that this \u2064is not really\u2064 a double down. In fact, you \u200ccan detect the seeds of equivocation already. Which is why I almost \u2063posted \u2064a tweet predicting that he would fully cave to the mob within the next 24 hours.\u2062 But I stopped myself, put on my little-worn rose colored glasses, and decided to be positive and optimistic instead. I sent out a tweet simply congratulating Ne-Yo for taking this stand, and I left it at that. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And \u2063then, an hour later, as if to punish me for dabbling with optimism, Ne-Yo posted another statement. Here\u2019s what \u200cit said: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAfter\u200b much reflection, I\u2019d\u2063 like to express my deepest apologies to anyone that \u200cI may have hurt with my comments on parenting and gender identity. I\u2019ve always been an advocate for\u2064 love and inclusivity in the LGBTQI+ community,\u200b so I \u200bunderstand how my comments could\u2019ve been interpreted \u2063as insensitive and offensive. Gender identity is nuanced and I can honestly admit that I plan to better educate myself on the topic, so I can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-bans-local-lockdown-restrictions-by-executive-order-bans-vaccine-passports\/\" title=\"DeSantis Bans Local Lockdown Restrictions By Executive Order, Bans Vaccine Passports\u00a0\">ne-yo<\/a>-slammed-online-after-caving-to-left-wing-pressure-over-transgender-parenting-comments\/&#8221; title=&#8221;Ne-Yo faces backlash for giving in to left-wing pressure on transgender parenting remarks.&#8221;>approach future conversations<\/a> with more empathy. At the end of the day, I lead with love\u2064 and support everyone\u2019s freedom of expression and pursuit\u200c of happiness.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, we have seen many people utterly debase themselves and \u200dshed whatever scraps of dignity they still had \u200cleft, all \u2064in a vain attempt to appease the zombie hordes. We have seen many targets of the outrage mob, in this exact situation, decide to betray the very people who were defending them while bending the knee to \u200ca bunch of pitchfork-wielding troglodytes who will still hate them even after they apologize. We have seen all of this, more times than we can count or want to count. But what makes\u2063 this \u2064one especially grotesque is that Ne-Yo\u2019s original statement \u200dwas spoken with such force and eloquence that you\u200d can tell this is an issue he really cares about and has long\u2062 reflected on.\u2062 In other words, this isn\u2019t someone pathetically apologizing for some off\u2064 the cuff remark. This is someone apologizing for saying something that, \u2063it\u2019s clear, he truly and \u200ddeeply believes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If I took this final statement seriously\u200c I \u2063might ask what arguments did the other side make to convince him that \u201cgender identity \u200dis nuanced\u201d? What facts did they present to\u2063 make him question\u2063 his previous belief that it\u2019s a bad idea to transition a five 5-year-old boy? What actual points did \u2063they make to persuade him \u2064that actually it\u2019s a\u2062 good idea to castrate and sterilize children? Before,\u200c he said little children\u2062 are too \u2062young \u200bto consent to these things. What happened to make him suddenly feel otherwise? What did the other side say to lead him to the\u2062 conclusion that he needs to \u201ceducate himself\u201d more \u2064on the topic? I would ask him to tell\u200c us more about this \u201cRoad to Damascus\u201d moment. What was said to him in that blinding light? What great truth was revealed? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I would ask all of that, but I know the answer. We all do. The\u2064 other side made no argument. They presented no facts.\u200b They did not\u200d give any reason to actually believe\u2062 anything they\u200b say\u2062 on this subject. Instead his handlers, and his PR team, and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pop-star-falls-to-his-knees-and-apologizes-for-saying-boys-are-boys-and-girls-are-girls\/\" title=\"Pop star apologizes for gender statement, falls to knees.\">record label executives told<\/a> him \u200cto bend the knee or else. They threatened him with loss of\u200c revenue, and who knows what other kind of blackmail, and they wrote up\u200d a statement \u200cfor him to post \u2014 and \u2064he posted it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This is, of course, by no means meant to\u200c let him off the hook. Far from it. He gave up his soul for fear and greed. He \u2062is a coward and \u2064a traitor \u200bto himself and his own belief system. Many such cases, and each case is \u2063just as shameful and disgusting as the last.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But it is worth \u2063reflecting \u200con the fact\u200b that, out \u200cof all of the Ne-Yos of the \u200cworld, who have prostrated themselves before the \u200cmob of trans activists and offered their own integrity up as sacrifice for their sins \u2064\u2014 out of \u2063all of these people, and their forced scripted\u200b apologies, not one of them has ever said \u201cYou know, the trans activists made such and such point and it really made me think differently about\u200b this situation.\u201d That has never happened. The trans activists have persuaded many people,\u2062 but have persuaded none. They have won millions of converts, and also not a single convert. That\u2019s because their \u2064position is one so laughably incoherent, \u2062so ridiculous and irrational, so nakedly insane, that no sane\u200b person could\u2064 ever truly \u2062be convinced by it. That\u2019s why they don\u2019t bother convincing. They can\u2019t.\u200c Instead they\u200c use intimidation, threats, coercion, fear. That\u2064 is how they have assembled an army marching under a flag that none \u2064of them believe\u200d in. They have built a house of cards and\u2063 imprisoned millions of people inside \u200cof it. All that any of them have to do \u2063is push gently\u200b against one of the walls and it\u2062 all comes tumbling down. The trans activists recognize this, which is why they must be so quick to \u2063squash\u2064 dissent whenever it arises. And lucky for them, \u200dthere are many cowards in the \u2062country who are quite easily squashed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">But the good news is that these kinds of tactics can only work for so long. A position \u200dso absurd and \u2063morally depraved can only be defended for so long. Eventually that house of cards will come tumbling down anyway, one way or another. We are watching\u2064 it happen right now, as we speak, in fact. And Ne-Yo,\u2063 along with the \u2063rest of the \u2062coward contingent, will be \u200don the\u2063 inside when it falls.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>* * *<\/p>\n<p><em>Update: Ne-Yo released an additional statement\u200c late in the day.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>accuse me of pessimism.
