In fact, anybody who spoke to American men \u2063writ \u2062large was considered bad.<\/p>\n<p>My friend \u2063Jordan Peterson speaks to men all \u2064over the world, specifically young\u200d men who feel\u200d lost. And the media hate him for it. They treat him as \u200dthough \u200dhe\u2019s a \u200cvery bad person for speaking to audiences \u200bof\u2063 young men.<\/p>\n<p>But suddenly the media have\u2063 realized\u2062 young men represent 50% of the American population \u2014\u2064 and men are \u2063falling\u200d behind \u200dby every single metric. Men are falling behind women when it comes to college degrees. Men are falling behind women when it comes to job performance.\u2063 Men are falling behind women when it comes to life \u200csatisfaction in some measures. These are all areas \u2063in which men are falling \u2062behind.<\/p>\n<p>This has raised the question: What \u2064exactly is happening to American men now? That question cannot be answered\u2062 in a vacuum \u2063without explaining what has\u2064 happened to American women.<\/p>\n<h3>The Wisdom\u2064 of the Bible<\/h3>\n<p>The Bible has a lot of wisdom embedded in it. One of these pieces of wisdom in Genesis, \u200cchapter two, tells \u200dabout\u2064 the formation of women. God\u2062 says man\u200b should not be alone; he needs a \u201chelpmeet.\u201d\u200c In Hebrew the\u200d word for \u201chelpmeet\u201d\u200b means \u201cour needs are\u2063 connected,\u201d which literally means a \u201chelper against him.\u201d In other words, men and women are two halves \u2062of the same whole.\u2062 That\u2019s also \u200bexpressed in that same\u2062 chapter with the statement that a man shall leave his \u200bfather and\u2062 mother and join his\u200b wife; he \u200bshall cleave to her and they \u200cshall become one flesh. The basic idea here is that men are \u2064incomplete without\u200c women\u2063 and women are incomplete without men.<\/p>\n<p>So when\u200b explaining the shortcomings of modern\u2064 American men, you also have to link that with their roles versus the roles of the women, because they \u2063do not exist in a \u2062vacuum.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a whole issue in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2023\/07\/14\/josh-hawley-masculinity-crisis-00105436\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a> \u200d about what\u2019s wrong with American men. Every single\u2063 piece in that issue\u2062 is \u200dwritten by a woman, which is a weird way to ask what\u2019s wrong with American men; they should have\u200c a diversity of viewpoints\u2063 about what exactly\u200b is happening \u200cwith \u200cAmerican men that should include some males.<\/p>\n<p>Why is Politico beginning to notice something \u201cwrong with American men\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Because men are turning away from the Democratic Party \u2014 in droves. Many people in the media are suddenly realizing that when \u2064American men fall off \u200bthe train, that is\u2062 very bad for\u200c America.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/show\/the-ben-shapiro-show\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>The \u200bRole of \u200bMen<\/h3>\n<p>Traditionally speaking, the role\u200b of men was pretty simple. \u2064The role of men was: You protect your family; you defend your \u200bcountry, your values,\u2062 your community; you provide for your family. These were the roles of men: protect and defend and provide. Men are \u200bstill expected \u2062to \u2062provide and defend our\u2064 families. That \u2064is still true for large swathes of the American\u2062 population.<\/p>\n<p>But there are a bunch of men who no longer do this \u2014 because our culture shames them for it. The culture has decided not to\u200b treat men and women as \u2062two potential halves of a greater whole that is \u200bunited in marriage. Instead, we\u2019re supposed to treat men atomistically \u200band women atomistically and then celebrate the atomism. We\u2019re supposed\u200c to celebrate the falling apart, which is presumably why there\u200d is a piece in The Wall Street Journal titled, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/divorce-parties-registries-marriage-1ed745b9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Divorce Parties Are a\u200b New Hot Invite<\/a>.\u201d The article says:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Now, a culture shift is under way. The U.S. divorce rate has\u2064 been dipping, but those \u2062who get them feel freer to trumpet their breakups. The number of American \u2063adults who consider \u200cdivorce to be morally acceptable has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ny-times-immigration-if-not-reduced-driving-u-s-to-records-last-seen-in-1890\/\" title=\"NY Times: Immigration, If Not Reduced, Driving U.S. to Records Last Seen in 1890\">hit historic highs<\/a>, according to Gallup\u2064 polls. \u2018Divorce used to be something to be\u200b ashamed of \u200ddue to societal\u2062 pressures and\u200c stereotypes. \u2026 But\u200c today, people have decided to nip that societal shame and instead embrace being divorced as another stage of \u2063life that some of us experience.\u2019<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now,\u200b is that a good thing or is that a bad thing? I would argue it\u2019s a very bad thing.\u2062 A divorce is a tragedy. It means that\u200d a marriage has ended. \u2063It \u2064means that potential\u200d fulfillment of male and female in monogamous marriage has been broken up, that \u200bthe basic predicate and foundation for the formation of a family, which is the building block of society, has fallen apart.\u200d Men lose \u2064themselves when they are not part of\u200b this institution;\u200d women\u200d lose themselves when they\u2019re not part of this institution because they are the countervailing part of what men are supposed to do.<\/p>\n<p>Removing one half of a whole means the other half is going to seem insufficient. That\u2019s \u2064particularly true of\u2064 men when they \u2063are deprived of their \u2062goals, when they \u200dare deprived\u2062 of their duty, when their aggressive instincts \u2064are not channeled in the most positive possible direction.\u200d What you end up with is true toxic masculinity because men in the \u2064wild are terrible: \u200drapacious, \u200dviolent, aggressive, territorial.<\/p>\n<p>But when all of\u2063 those instincts are channeled to protect, defend, and provide, then those\u2064 instincts can be sublimated\u2064 to a higher\u200b goal. When the higher goal \u200bgoes away,\u200c men\u2062 end up being incredibly destructive, either to others or to themselves.\u2064 That\u2019s exactly\u200d what we\u200b are seeing right now.<\/p>\n<p>But the media \u2064refuse to acknowledge that because what they like is \u2063the moral status they have built \u200bin which we are supposed to\u200b pretend all acts of sexual union are equally morally praiseworthy and\u2062 societally useful. We\u2019re supposed to pretend everybody\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tennessee-governor-signs-executive-order-allowing-parents-to-avoid-masking-their-children\/\" title=\"Tennessee Governor Signs Executive Order Allowing Parents To Avoid Masking Their Children\">individual decision-making<\/a> with regard to relationships is\u200d equally good and equally valid. We\u2019re supposed to pretend the\u2063 liberated woman who is no longer expected to get married is somehow better off than the woman who got married at 20, \u2063had kids with a husband, maybe had a part-time job, and then maybe had a full-time job.<\/p>\n<p>We valorize people for making \u200bdecisions that are contra the traditional patterns of life, even though\u200d the traditional patterns of\u200c life provide the actual framework for success for both men and women.\u200b This doesn\u2019t mean that every marriage from 1930 is better than every marriage from 2020 \u2014\u2063 nothing like that. But it does mean that a society that expects men and women to become complementary parts of a fuller \u200cwhole\u2063 is a better society\u200b and a more\u200d healthy society than one that says they\u2019re completely \u2064apathetic about this.<\/p>\n<p>Because here\u2019s the truth: When you say you are apathetic about a\u2062 moral standard, what you really mean\u200c is that you are\u200c against the\u200d moral standard \u2014 because the standard makes demands of you. If you oppose the\u200d demands, that\u2019s not apathy; that\u2019s opposition.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2064opposite of the traditional moral standard is not apathy. It\u200d is absolute chaos.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s\u2063 what we are seeing right now. We refuse \u2062to acknowledge the complete restructuring of society, so men and women have been broken into groups \u200blike two separate groups that were not expected to come \u200dtogether over marriage. They\u2019ve now become reactionary and oppositional.<\/p>\n<p>When any\u2063 two groups become\u2064 so reactionary\u2063 and oppositional that they \u200cnever look inward\u200d to ask \u201cwhat can I do \u200dto fix the problem?\u201d \u200bbut instead look outward at the \u2062other person to say \u200d\u201cI\u2019ll do the precise opposite,\u201d you get a recipe \u200cfor a complete \u2064breakdown. You end up\u2063 with \u2063both toxic femininity and toxic\u2062 masculinity: the valorization of a lifestyle that says abortion is an act of good for women and a valorization on the other side that\u200d says \u2062men should treat women like pieces\u200c of meat and the true mark of a man\u2019s \u200bsuccess \u2062is how toxically aggressive he \u2063is.<\/p>\n<p>Get \u2062rid of the institution of marriage \u200dand people go back to their\u2062 basest instincts, especially \u2064those that have \u2064been shielded from biology. You end up with people indulging their basest instincts and being unhappier.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m convinced that men\u2064 are\u200d in crisis, and I strongly suspect\u200c that ending it will require a positive \u2062vision \u200cof what masculinity entails\u2064 that is particular, \u2063neither \u200bneutral nor interchangeable with femininity. There\u2019s\u200b no one script for how to be a woman or \u2063a man. But despite\u200d a push by some advocates to make everything from bathrooms to birthing gender-neutral, most people don\u2019t actually want a completely androgynous \u2063society.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2063 must find new ways \u200cto valorize\u200c the traditional role of men, to tell a story that\u2019s appealing to\u2064 young men and socially \u200bbeneficial rather than \u2063sitting \u2063around\u200c listening to people \u200bwho would\u200b warp a \u200cperceived difference into something ugly and destructive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO \u200bGET THE \u200cDAILY WIRE\u200b APP<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>he is a villain for addressing the concerns of American men.
