He will reportedly complete both federal and state \u200bsentences at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>Thao also gave a statement prior to his\u200b Monday sentencing. <\/p>\n<p>Although he spoke extensively about how his\u200d days in prison \u200dhelped\u200d him to develop his Christian faith, he reportedly \u200bdenied any wrongdoing for\u200b Floyd\u2019s passing. Thao made meandering comments replete\u200b with\u200d religious undertones and also \u2062mentioned how he\u200d never intended to hurt anyone. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI did not commit these crimes,\u201d Thao said. \u201cMy conscience is clear. I will not be a Judas nor join a mob in self-preservation or betray my God.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill stated how\u200b the \u200bex-policeman allowed his former\u2062 partners to keep\u200c restraining the victim and \u2062prevented bystanders from providing \u2062medical \u200caid, as\u2063 written in his \u200d177-page ruling against Thao.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThere is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Thao\u2019s actions were objectively unreasonable from the perspective of a reasonable\u2063 police officer,\u2064 when viewed under the\u2064 totality \u200bof the circumstances,\u201d Cahill wrote. \u201cThao\u2019s actions were even more unreasonable \u200bin\u200c light of the fact\u200d that he was under \u200ba duty to \u2063intervene to stop the \u200bother officers\u2019 \u200cexcessive use of force and was trained \u200bto render medical\u200c aid.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to reports, Floyd\u2019s passing brought forth much \u200bchange for Minneapolis\u2019s police \u2064department. <\/p>\n<p>The Minnesota \u200dforce\u2062 of Human Rights stated \u2064in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/emergency-wisconsin-lawsuit-to-stop-certification-challenges-nearly-160000-votes\/\" title=\"Emergency Wisconsin Lawsuit To Stop Certification Challenges Nearly 160,000 Votes\">news release<\/a> that\u2062 the \u200dcity of Minneapolis agreed to restructure the police \u200bforce\u200d to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/convicted-officer-in-george-floyd-murder-sentenced-to-extra-4-years-9-months\/\" title=\"Officer in George Floyd murder gets additional 4 years, 9 months.\">address \u201crace-based policing<\/a>,\u201d\u200c and that it\u2064 also agreed to pay Floyd\u2019s estate $27 million in order to resolve a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed! \u200bReceive\u200d breaking news blasts \u200ddirectly to your inbox for free.
