He \u200dpreviously granted an\u2063 interview to \u200cJake Tapper \u200bunder the same condition.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-437762833\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4a1b9b62a5d0bdc3dabd19883445b531 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4a1b9b62a5d0bdc3dabd19883445b531\"><\/div>\n<p>Both events\u200d have been disasters.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s truly\u200c astounding that there \u200cstill exist Republicans who haven\u2019t yet\u200d learned a fundamental fact about\u2062 the media: You can trust them to relay the truth\u2062 the same \u200dway \u2063you can trust Lizzo to fast\u200c for a day.<\/p>\n<p>And when they\u2019re not\u2063 explicitly \u2062deceiving the public, they\u2019re\u200b engaged in some other trifling behavior for\u200b the purpose\u200c of\u200b sabotaging whichever \u2064Republican \u2062is dumb enough to \u200cgive them the benefit of the doubt.<\/p>\n<p>The interview DeSantis taped last\u2064 month <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/17\/ron-desantis-heads-to-cnn-to-hopefully-confront-jake-tapper-the-most-dishonest-man-on-cable-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with \u200cTapper<\/a> \u2062 aired in the dead-asleep \u20624 p.m. ET hour, and\u2063 every \u200cother question was interrupted with live segments analyzing Donald Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/unmasked-texas-dems-defy-biden\/\" title=\"Unmasked Texas Dems Defy Biden\">latest legal woes<\/a>. \u2064The \u2063full video was under 20\u2063 minutes\u200b and was only played in 3-minute increments before Tapper and some other CNN dork cut it off to talk about something else. There is no point in wasting the time to do the interview if that\u2019s how it\u2019s going to be delivered.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-31be84a7e3a111525c3e183ab5893e81 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-31be84a7e3a111525c3e183ab5893e81\"><\/div>\n<p>If that wasn\u2019t\u2062 terrible enough, the NBC package was so much worse. Correspondent Dasha Burns aired multiple pieces of it on \u201cToday\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-ron-desantis-is-nuts-for-agreeing-to-another-pre-taped-tv-interview\/\" title=\"Ron DeSantis's Decision for Another Pre-Taped TV Interview is Questionable\">predictably omitted\u200c key\u2064 parts<\/a> of\u2064 some of DeSantis\u2019 answers and obnoxiously cut \u2064off his remarks after she challenged him\u200b on abortion regulation, bestowing\u2064 upon herself that corny \u2062\u201cbrave and \u200bdefiant \u200clady journalist\u201d glow.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s\u2062 how that went:<\/p>\n<p>Burns: \u201cThere\u2019s no evidence of Democrats\u200d pushing for abortions up until [after birth].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis: \u201cBut\u2064 their view is \u2014\u00a0their view\u2062 is, \u2062is that all the way up until \u200bthat, there should not be any legal protections \u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fbe0ce273bcba60640a67640f9b27d67 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-fbe0ce273bcba60640a67640f9b27d67\"><\/div>\n<p>Burns:\u200b \u201cThere\u2019s no indication of\u200c Democrats\u200d pushing for that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis:\u2062 \u201cWell,\u2064 yes,\u2064 there \u2014\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And scene.<\/p>\n<p><em>If \u200cyou\u200d want to know any more about what DeSantis\u2064 had to say, find the full interview yourself on NBC News \u200dDot Com, where it will be placed at \u200dan undisclosed \u2064time!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Average viewer: <em>No thanks! I\u2019ve got things to do!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Seriously, NBC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tim-graham-dumb-question-is-the-pro-biden-spin-getting-out\/\" title=\"Tim Graham: Dumb Question: Is the Pro-Biden Spin Getting Out?\">daily morning newsletter<\/a> went up <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/meet-the-press\/first-read\/desantis-takes-trump-presidency-new-nbc-interview-rcna98499\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">at\u2062 9 a.m. ET<\/a> advertising the\u200d interview\u200d with a \u200dpromise that the \u200b\u201cfull\u201d thing would be on the website. As of this writing,\u2064 it\u2019s still not.<\/p>\n<p>Burns\u2063 also made DeSantis look like a clown \u2063by chopping \u200cup his response to \u200ca question about Trump\u2019s third \u2063criminal indictment, which charges him in relation to the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJoe Biden\u2019s \u2064the\u2062 president,\u201d he said, actually dignifying a sophomoric and patronizing question from Burns (\u201cDid Donald Trump lose \u200bthe 2020 election?\u201d Duh-hurrr). He continued, \u201cBut the issue is, I think what people in the media and elsewhere, they\u200d want to act like\u2063 somehow this was just like the perfect election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s where \u200bthe\u2063 footage of his answer ended. What followed, according to Politico,\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/newsletters\/playbook\/2023\/08\/07\/welcome-to-the-courtroom-campaign-00110068\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">is this<\/a>: \u201cI don\u2019t think it was \u200da <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ron-desantis-acknowledges-trumps-2020-election-defeat-of-course-he-lost\/\" title=\"DeSantis admits Trump's loss in 2020 election.\">good-run election<\/a>. But I also\u2062 think Republicans didn\u2019t fight back. You\u2019ve got to fight back when that is happening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maybe he wanted to expand further on that very \u2063important point. Maybe \u200che didn\u2019t. Who knows?! The DeSantis campaign decided it\u2063 was a good idea to let the media decide!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve been pushing DeSantis to do\u200b more non-Fox TV media \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/13\/time-for-ron-desantis-to-do-it-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">since mid-June<\/a>. He is <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/23\/8-lessons-from-the-ron-desantis-school-of-dominating-the-corrupt-media\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">at his\u2062 strongest<\/a> when he\u2019s belittling nerd TV\u2064 reporters with his mastery of policy material and will to correct\u200c a fake narrative. A month later, he did his first one, a welcome \u2063development. But the whole point was that the interviews would be live precisely so \u200bthese things don\u2019t \u2062happen. When it\u2019s live, the reporter and her gang of producers can\u2019t get cute with the editing and \u201cfact-checking.\u201d\u200d When it\u2019s live,\u200d they don\u2019t get \u200cto assert\u2064 whatever \u200dline they\u2019re trying\u2064 to push while omitting any rebuttal.<\/p>\n<p>This is now the\u2063 second time DeSantis has made the exceedingly dumb mistake of agreeing to a pre-taped one. Why? A \u200bspokesman for the campaign \u200ddidn\u2019t get back to me with an explanation. Maybe he\u2019ll offer something in his\u200b next \u200caimless sit-down with\u200d Jake Tapper.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-04048909afbc3574b44f00d14f7d3942 fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-04048909afbc3574b44f00d14f7d3942\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>unclear, Ron DeSantis, despite his disdain for the national media, surprisingly showed trust in non-Fox News outlets.
