Like many \u2063teenagers then and now, Laurie felt lost until he found Christ.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\">\n<\/div>\n<p>And Laurie was not the only one of the film\u2019s central figures who faced earthly struggles. \u2062Andy Erwin, \u2064the movie\u2019s \u200cproducer, \u200cdescribed hippie street preacher Lonnie Frisbee, one of the \u200d1970s-era preachers who led the \u200c\u201cJesus Revolution,\u201d as having\u2062 lived a \u201cmessy life,\u201d according to a story that appeared Friday on the Christian news site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianheadlines.com\/contributors\/michael-foust\/jesus-revolution-rockets-into-netflixs-top-5-lets-pray-god-uses-this-film.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Christian Headlines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2064 look at the history of the church, there are a\u2064 lot of messy people\u2026God\u2019s redemptive power will use \u2062anyone that\u2019s available,\u201d Erwin\u2062 added.<\/p>\n<p>Judging by\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/revival-may-coming-jesus-revolution-film-captures-time-us-history-like-awakening-followed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">film\u2019s<\/a> early \u200csuccess, God might indeed\u2063 be using it\u200b to reach millions of people, as Laurie hoped.<\/p>\n<p>In his Instagram post, Laurie noted that \u201cNetflix has over 75 million subscribers.\u201d Globally, however, that number approaches 240 million.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the streaming \u200bservice continues \u200dto grow. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2023\/tv\/news\/netflix-subscribers-up-q2-earnings-1235673960\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Variety<\/a>, Netflix exceeded \u2063expectations by\u2063 adding nearly six million \u200cpaid subscribers in the quarter\u2062 ending \u200cJune 30.<\/p>\n<p>This \u200bmatters\u2063 because, as Laurie told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2023\/aug\/3\/jesus-revolution-movie-now-available-netflix\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington\u2063 Times<\/a> on\u200b Thursday, \u201cJesus Revolution\u201d also has established an international \u2064presence. Moviegoers in \u200bEngland, Scotland, New Zealand, Australia and Latin\u200d America already have had\u2064 a chance\u200c to see the film.<\/p>\n<p>No doubt the state of the modern world has \u2062something to do with the movie\u2019s appeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe timing \u2064of \u2018Jesus Revolution\u2019 is\u200c incredible,\u201d \u200bLaurie told the Christian news site <a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianpost.com\/news\/jesus-revolution-rising-on-netflix-top-10-trending-list.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Christian \u200bPost<\/a> on\u200c Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe \u2063God\u2019s hand has\u2062 been on it from\u200c the beginning. The Jesus Movement was the last great American spiritual awakening.\u200d Some historians have said it was the greatest revival of all time. Our prayer continues\u200b to be that\u2064 this film will prompt Christians everywhere to say,\u2062 \u2018Do it again, Lord!\u2019 And\u2064 He is!\u201d Laurie added.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, \u201cJesus Revolution\u201d appeared in theaters and on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/netflix-cleopatra-director-admits-using-show-drive-agenda-lawsuit-looms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Netflix<\/a> at \u200ca time when many believe the \u2063world has gone mad.<\/p>\n<p>The proper diagnosis for the world\u2019s ills, however, is not insanity but lies.
