Have\u2062 you read the indictments, and what\u2019s your reaction to them?,\u201d Stephanopoulos \u200casked \u2014 and then later: \u201cDo you have an opinion \u2062on the fact\u2064 that the President Trump tried to overturn the \u2062election as alleged in the\u200c indictment this week by special prosecutor Smith?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stephanopoulos even brought \u200dformer Vice President Mike Pence \u2014 who \u2062has also announced a bid for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination\u200d \u2014 into\u200d the conversation,\u200c asking, \u201cWas\u2063 Donald Trump wrong when he \u200dpressured Mike Pence not to certify?\u2063 Was Mike Pence\u2063 right when he certified?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Through it\u200c all, \u200cBurgum argued that \u200bthe \u2062people he had spoken to on the \u200bcampaign trail were not asking\u200c about Trump \u2014 rather, they wanted \u200cto know who was going to address\u200c the issues \u2064they faced every day like inflation. \u201cPresidential campaigns should be\u200c about the\u2062 future, not about the \u2063past,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>CBS News, \u2064\u201cFace the Nation\u201d:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) said Sunday that he had not yet decided\u200b whether he planned to mount a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/democrat-dean-phillips-urges-certain-democrats-to-primary-biden-they-know-who-they-are\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">primary challenge<\/a> \u200d against \u2064incumbent President Joe Biden \u2014 but he did\u2064 make it clear that he believed someone should.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips told \u2064CBS\u2019\u2062 Major \u2062Garrett that Biden\u2062 could beat Trump if it came to that, but argued that the \u2062American people deserved to see Biden fight for the nomination rather than simply have it handed \u2063to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo my call is \u200bto those\u2062 who \u2062are well positioned, \u2064well prepared, have good character and \u200dcompetency, they know who \u200cthey are, to jump in, because Democrats and the country need \u200bcompetition,\u201d \u200che said.<\/p>\n<p>Phillips also took aim\u2063 at \u2062Robert\u2063 F. Kennedy Jr. \u2014 \u2062who\u2062 has already begun a campaign for the Democratic nomination \u2014 and claimed he didn\u2019t believe the nephew of \u2063late President John F. That number was slightly higher \u2014 71% \u2062\u2014 among Republicans.
