Jon Tester<\/h2>\n<p>Republicans are coming\u200c together to support their\u2062 chosen candidate in the upcoming race against Sen. Jon\u2062 Tester \u2063(D-MT) for \u200da \u2063fourth term. Tim \u200bSheehy, a businessman and former Navy SEAL, entered the 2024 GOP primary in late June and has already\u200d gained the \u200cbacking of influential figures such as Gov. Greg Gianforte (R-MT), \u2063Rep. Ryan\u200d Zinke (R-MT), and Sen.\u200b Steve Daines (R-MT), who also\u200d serves as chairman of the National\u2063 Republican Senatorial \u2062Committee. These\u200d endorsements have \u200dprompted calls for\u200c Rep. Rosendale from\u2063 running after Sheehy \u2064announced his candidacy. \u200bDaines emphasized the \u2064importance of Rosendale staying in the House\u200c to build \u2062seniority \u2064and help Republicans maintain their majority. While Daines and Rosendale have been engaged\u200b in \u2063productive conversations, it remains to\u200c be\u2063 seen whether Rosendale will \u2063ultimately decide to\u200c stay out of the race.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Rosendale, a\u200c member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, \u2062had the\u200d support of the\u2063 Club for Growth in his previous \u200cbid against Tester in 2018. However, the Club \u200cfor Growth&#8217;s\u2062 endorsement is now uncertain after Sheehy entered the race. Additionally,\u200b reports have emerged\u2062 that former\u200b President Trump has indicated he\u200c will \u2063not endorse\u200d Rosendale over Sheehy, further complicating Rosendale&#8217;s path \u200bto\u2064 the GOP nomination.<\/p>\n<p>Despite their joint \u200dpress\u200c releases and appearances of cooperation, the rivalry between\u200c Daines and Tester \u200badds an uncomfortable \u2064dynamic to \u200dtheir efforts to\u2063 unseat the three-term Democrat.
