Andrew Cuomo\u2064 during the pandemic. However, he was forced to resign amidst allegations\u200c that \u2064the administration \u2062had lied about \u2063the\u2062 number of seniors who died \u200cin nursing homes \u2062due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<h3>Stefanik Demands\u200b Accountability<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Disgraced,\u2063 corrupt Cuomo\u2019s health director Howard Zucker is responsible for the deaths \u200dof tens of thousands of New York seniors,&#8221; Stefanik expressed to Fox News. &#8220;I call on Biden\u2019s CDC \u200cto immediately fire Howard Zucker. I\u2064 will continue fighting to deliver accountability to the \u2062New\u2064 York families who\u2064 tragically lost loved\u200c ones because of Cuomo \u2063and\u2064 Zucker.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Zucker assumed his role at the CDC\u2064 in January \u200c2023, approximately a year and a half \u200cafter his resignation\u200b in\u200b New York.\u2064 During the peak of the pandemic, Zucker\u2064 implemented a \u2063policy that required seniors in nursing homes across the\u200b state to\u2064 return to their facilities after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/four-killed-30-injured-in-train-derailment-in-southern-germany\/\" title=\"Four Killed, 30 Injured in Train Derailment in Southern Germany\">receiving hospital treatment<\/a> for \u2064COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>Critics\u2063 argue that \u2063this\u200c policy contributed to a surge in cases, an allegation that Cuomo and his team have denied.
