Elects Iran, China To Women\u2019s Rights Commission\">authorities forced<\/a> themselves \u200cinto his\u200c home without \u2062incident and \u200bfound \u200cthat 65-year-old Sheryl Ferguson had \u2064been shot at least once, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/california\/story\/2023-08-03\/anaheim-homicide-orange-county\">The\u2064 Los Angeles Times reported<\/a>.\u2064 Ferguson\u2019s\u200d wife was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers arrested \u2064Ferguson at the Anaheim\u2063 Hills home. He was booked into an\u2062 Orange County jail on \u2063$1 million bail.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Law enforcement sources told the Times that a \u2063son of the couple was at the home at the \u200dtime of the shooting. The son, who \u2063is in his \u206420s, was questioned by police after \u2063the shooting, KTLA <a href=\"https:\/\/ktla.com\/news\/local-news\/orange-county-judge-arrested-after-fatal-shooting-in-anaheim-hills-home-reports\/\">reported<\/a>. A neighbor of the Fergusons told\u2063 the news outlet that \u200cthe couple had lived \u200cthere for over 20 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The judge\u2019s colleagues were stunned when \u2062they heard about Ferguson\u2019s arrest on suspicion of murder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAbsolutely shocked.\u2063 I had\u2062 them sit on my couch. I would\u2063 never have thought this for a minute,\u201d \u200done colleague \u2064said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ferguson was elected\u200b to the Superior Court of Orange County in June 2014 after \u2063he began his career as an Orange County Deputy District Attorney in 1983, <a href=\"https:\/\/nocba.org\/team\/hon-jeff-ferguson\/\">according<\/a> to his bio. Ten years after he started\u2064 his career, Ferguson was promoted to Senior \u2062Deputy District Attorney and assigned to the \u2062Major Narcotics \u200bEnforcement Team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ferguson\u2019s wife\u2064 Sheryl worked for the Santa\u2064 Barbara and Orange\u200c County Probation Departments before working for the American Funds\u2062 Service Co., where \u200cshe spent 20 \u2063years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u2064judge\u200c was\u200c reprimanded in 2017 by California\u2019s Commission on Judicial\u200c Performance for comments \u200bhe made on Facebook\u200b about an election that included one of his \u2062fellow judges, according to the Times. \u2063During the\u2062 2016\u2062 election, Judge Scott \u2063Steiner was running for reelection against Karen Schatzle, a senior deputy district attorney for the\u2064 county.\u2064 According \u200dto the commission, Schatzle posted a \u2062comment on a\u200c Facebook page on April 26, 2016,\u2062 writing, \u201cScott Steiner uses his\u200c office for sex \u2063and yet so many aren\u2019t \u200dconcerned, crazy politics!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ferguson replied to the comment, posting, \u201cKaren Shatzle has sex with defense lawyer whike [sic] shw [sic] is \u200dDA \u200con his cases and \u200bnobody cares. Interesting politics.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The commission ruled that \u200bFerguson acted with \u201creckless disregard \u200cfor the truth\u201d because he could not provide any support for his accusation.
