The flyers were posted by members of the Clovis\u2063 chapter of \u2063Young America&#8217;s Foundation, namely Alejandro Flores, Daniel Flores, and Juliette Colunga.<\/p>\n<h3>College President&#8217;s Unfounded\u200d Reasoning<\/h3>\n<p>The college&#8217;s president, Lori Bennett, had \u200bordered \u200cthe \u2064removal of the \u200cflyers,\u200d claiming that\u200d they needed to &#8220;double\u200c as club\u200d announcements&#8221; according to an unpublished rule. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-community-college-illegally-censored-conservative-students-appeals-court-rules\/\" title=\"Court rules: California community college violated free speech rights of conservative students.\">internal emails \u2063revealed<\/a> \u2064that Bennett had fabricated\u2062 this reason specifically \u2062in\u2063 response \u2062to the group&#8217;s flyers. She even admitted to a subordinate that the flyers were not considered club announcements.<\/p>\n<p>This latest ruling\u2063 upholds a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-supreme-court-backs-teacher-ousted-for-rejecting-trans-policies\/\" title=\"Virginia Supreme Court Backs Teacher Ousted for Rejecting Trans Policies\">lower court&#8217;<\/a>s decision from last \u2064year, which stated that Clovis&#8217;s policy \u2063was &#8220;facially overbroad under the First Amendment and\u200d unconstitutionally vague under the Fourteenth Amendment.&#8221; The\u200c students were\u2063 represented by\u2063 the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Clovis tried again to \u2062justify its censorship, but the court saw through its flawed arguments,&#8221; said Daniel Ortner, an attorney for FIRE, in response to the appellate \u200bcourt&#8217;s ruling. &#8220;The\u2064 panel\u2019s decision shows what \u200bwe\u2019ve argued all along: Clovis\u2019s flyer policy \u2062is overbroad, vague, and indefensible in a court of law.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Washington\u2063 Examiner\u200c has reached out to Clovis Community College \u200dfor comment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Click here to read more from The Washington Examiner.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>the conservative students&#8217; constitutional rights.
