The suspect, a 28-year-old individual whose \u2064identity\u200b is\u2064 being withheld, has been charged with the brutal killings of Ethan Chapin, Kaylee\u2063 Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Madison Mogen on \u2063November 13,\u200b 2022.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent court \u200bfiling, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tree-of-life-synagogue-shooter-convicted-on-all-charges-could-face-death-penalty\/\" title=\"Synagogue shooter found guilty on all counts, may face death penalty.\">defense attorneys acknowledged<\/a> that they currently \u2064lack specific witnesses to \u200bcorroborate their client&#8217;s alibi. However, they expressed confidence that such evidence may emerge during the discovery process \u2062and cross-examination\u2062 of witnesses at trial.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201c[The suspect] \u2063has long had a habit\u2063 of going for drives\u200b alone. Often he would go \u200cfor \u2062drives at night. He did so late on November \u206312 and into November 13, 2022,\u201d attorney Anne Taylor wrote in the filing. \u201c[The suspect] is not claiming to \u200cbe at a specific location at a specific time; at\u200b this time there is not a specific witness to\u2062 say precisely where [my client] was at each \u200cmoment of the hours between late night \u200bNovember 12, 2022, and early morning November 13, 2022.\u2064 He was out, driving during the late night and early morning hours\u2064 of November 12-13,\u200b 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The suspect&#8217;s\u2063 arrest was based on \u2063various pieces of evidence, including DNA found\u2062 on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/idaho-murders-brian-kohbergers-dna-a-statistical-match\/\" title=\"Brian Kohberger's DNA has been identified as a statistical match in the Idaho murders.\">knife sheath left<\/a> at \u200bthe crime scene. This DNA has been matched to the\u2063 suspect&#8217;s genetic profile. \u200dAdditionally, video footage captured a white Hyundai Elantra, \u200cregistered in Pennsylvania where front license plates are\u200c not required, repeatedly \u2064passing the off-campus residence during the estimated timeframe of\u200d the murders.<\/p>\n<p>Further video evidence\u2062 from Washington State University (WSU) showed a white Hyundai Elantra leaving the campus area and heading towards Moscow, Idaho, around 2:53 a.m. The same vehicle was later spotted on \u2064multiple cameras in Pullman, Washington, at approximately 5:25 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Police investigations revealed that the suspect owned a white Hyundai Elantra, which was registered in Washington and equipped with Washington plates just five days after the\u200b murders.
