That\u2019s a significant burden for almost every Ford\u2064 dealer, because the average Ford store is pretty\u200b small.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to \u2063Haig, a Ford dealer may only sell around\u2063 500 vehicles a year, making \u200cit difficult to recoup the expensive upfront investment through \u2062uncertain future EV sales.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out dealers were right to be\u200d skeptical. EVs are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lefts-electric-vehicle-hopes-dreams-run-wall-evs-piling-lots-no-buyers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not \u200dselling<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/07\/10\/unsold-electric-cars-are-piling-up-on-dealer-lots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a> reported on a Cox Automotive survey that concluded\u2062 dealers have an\u200d almost \u2062three-month supply of \u2064EVs\u2063 on\u2063 hand, compared\u200d to a 54-day supply of gas-powered \u200bvehicles.<\/p>\n<h3>Creative Solutions to EV Upgrades<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the sales challenges, \u200csome dealers still want to get\u2064 into the EV market. Haig shared a story about how one dealer got creative\u200b about the EV upgrades his dealership needed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe math on this sometimes gets a little comical,\u201d Haig \u2063said.<\/p>\n<p>One of Haig\u2019s\u200b clients \u2063from the \u200bupper Midwest called\u200d his city to find out if the infrastructure existed\u2062 to \u2062support an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/electric-vehicles-owners-drop-truth-bomb-charging-logistical-nightmare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EV charging \u2063station<\/a>. The dealer was advised the electrical capacity \u200cneeded was \u2063not available, and could not be added.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2063dealer went ahead \u2063with the charging station purchase from Ford, and installed it. However, for the electricity needed, \u2063he had\u2063 to hook the charging station to a diesel generator, which he\u2063 had concealed behind a wall.<\/p>\n<p>One of the perks of \u2062EV ownership is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/black-lives-matter-activist-charged-with-anti-asian-hate-crime-after-posting-online-against-hate\/\" title=\"Black Lives Matter Activist Charged With Anti-Asian Hate Crime After Posting Online Against \u2018Hate\u2019\">progressive virtue signaling<\/a>. \u2063You can \u2062say EVs are green all you want, but if you \u2062buy one\u200d from this\u200c particular Ford dealership, it \u200bwill have\u200b been charged thanks to\u2062 a diesel generator.<\/p>\n<p>In a way, the dealer\u2019s\u200d action makes \u200dclear a serious issue \u200dof EV usage. Far\u2064 from\u200b being \u201cgreen,\u201d across \u2064the \u2063country much of the electricity needed to \u200bpower EVS is generated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gm-official-bragged-electric-car-reporter-forced-admit-charging-electricity-comes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fossil\u2062 fuels<\/a> in the first place.<\/p>\n<h3>The Challenges of EV Usage<\/h3>\n<p>The power grid is already challenged in\u2062 areas like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-dark-summer-power-grid-operators-warn-electricity-shortage-coming-amid-green-energy-transition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">California<\/a>, largely\u2062 because of\u200b the same kind of green ideas that led to the EV\u200c push. Where will all the extra capacity\u2063 needed to \u2062charge large numbers of EVs come from?<\/p>\n<p>Not \u200donly\u200b do EVs still \u2063rely on fossil fuels \u2063as energy,\u200b there\u200b are questions on \u200chow much of a savings there \u2062is in using electricity instead of gasoline.<\/p>\n<p>According \u2063to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/ev-charging-cost-versus-gas-car-truck-suv-2023-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insider<\/a>, the electricity \u200dneeded to charge entry-level and mid-level EVs is \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/new-study-electric-vehicles-cost-charge-filling-car-gas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more expensive<\/a> than \u2064a \u200bgasoline \u200dfill up, especially when using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-promotes-future-of-electric-cars-after-test-driving-100k-electric-hummer\/\" title=\"Joe Biden Promotes Future of Electric Cars After Test Driving 0K Electric Hummer\">public charging station<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>With\u200c dilemmas like these, its\u200b little wonder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ford-pushes-back-electric-vehicle-target-admits-transition-will-slower-industry-expected\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ford<\/a> is\u200d losing\u200b an estimated $4.5 billion on it EV line this year, up from a $2.1 billion\u200d loss the\u2063 year before.<\/p>\n<p>Despite top down <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/shark-tank-star-shreds-biden-admins-plan-go-electric-not-going-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">government pressure<\/a> for \u200cacceptance, EVs \u200cwill never be practical, or deliver on their promised benefits, without serious revisions to the way electricity \u200bis generated and\u200c distributed in America.<\/p>\n<p>It would be much more efficient to continue using\u2062 reliable gas burning vehicles \u2062until EVs actually become practical.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2062post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ford-dealership-installs-diesel-generator-power-ev-chargers-company-struggles-transition\/\">Ford\u2063 Dealership Installs Diesel Generator\u2063 to Power EV Chargers as Company \u2063Struggles \u2062with Transition<\/a> appeared first on\u2064 <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>found a creative solution to the challenges of selling electric vehicles.
