It\u2019s a very sad thing to see it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump believes that his indictment is a symptom \u200dof the \u2062grave issues plaguing the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you look at what\u2019s happening, this is a persecution of a political opponent. This was never supposed to happen in America. This is the \u2063persecution of the person that\u2019s\u2063 leading by very,\u200c very substantial numbers in the Republican primary and leading Biden by a lot,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, if you can\u2019t beat them, you persecute them \u200cor you prosecute them.\u200c We can\u2019t let this happen in America,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to his departure for Washington, Trump posted a defiant \u2062message on his Truth Social platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI AM NOW GOING TO WASHINGTON, D.C., TO BE ARRESTED FOR HAVING CHALLENGED A CORRUPT, RIGGED, &#038; STOLEN ELECTION. IT IS A GREAT HONOR,\u2064 BECAUSE I AM BEING ARRESTED FOR YOU. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>According to ABC, the conditions of Trump\u2019s\u2064 release are that he must not violate state or federal laws, appear in court as required, sign a bond \u2062committing him to appear, and not communicate about \u200bthe case\u2019s facts with\u200b people Trump knows will be witnesses \u200bunless through attorneys or in the presence of attorneys.<\/p>\n<p>The first hearing in the case is\u2063 scheduled for Aug. 28, \u2064five days after the first Republican \u200bpresidential debate, which Trump has indicated he may sit out.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s lawyer, Alina Habba, criticized the\u2064 political roots of the charges against Trump, stating, \u200d\u201cThis is not a coincidence. This is election interference at its finest\u200c against the leading candidate right\u200d now for president for either party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPresident Trump is under siege in a way that we have never seen before. President Trump and his legal team and everyone on his team will continue to fight. Not for him, but for\u2062 the American people,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not about the Jan. 6\u200b case. It\u2019s about the fact that in the matter\u2064 of\u200b a couple of \u200dmonths,\u200d we\u200b have seen them try and tie up\u200c \u2014 and me as an \u200dattorney, I\u2019ve never seen this \u2014 tie up one individual \u2026 who\u2019s running a campaign, in\u200d a campaign, running for office for president, so \u200dthat he is in court in\u2062 depositions and distract him, so that he won\u2019t properly \u200drun for 2024.
