A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-associate-testified-that-hunter-sold-more-than-illusion-of-access-transcript-reveals\/\" title=\"Transcript reveals Hunter Biden associate's testimony on selling more than just 'access illusion'.\">newly released transcript shows<\/a> that the phrase was in fact from Goldman&#8217;s questioning, not Archer&#8217;s testimony.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not about selling access to his father. It&#8217;s about selling the illusion of\u2062 access to his father. Is that fair?&#8221; \u2064Goldman <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Devon-Archer-Transcript.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">asked<\/a> Archer, who sat on the board of Ukrainian gas\u200d company Burisma Holdings with\u2063 Hunter Biden. Archer was testifying to the\u200c House Oversight Committee this week \u2064about Joe Biden&#8217;s role in his son&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-secret-service-intervened-in-hunter-biden-gun-incident-lied-on-background-check-form-report-says\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Secret Service Intervened In Hunter Biden Gun Incident; Lied On Background Check Form, Report Says\">overseas business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Archer replied that \u2063the phrase was &#8220;almost fair.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There \u2064are touch \u2064points \u2062and contact points that I can&#8217;t deny that happened, but nothing \u200dof\u200d material was discussed. \u200dBut I can&#8217;t go on record saying that there was\u2014there was communications,&#8221; Archer said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yeah, there were communications,&#8221; Archer\u200c clarified.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">mainstream media<\/a>, however, \u2064widely reported Goldman&#8217;s characterization after the New York Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/hunter-biden-congress-oversight-republicans-devon-archer-4b706443a04e0c40a80c65e24d7d69dc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claimed<\/a> that&#8217;s what Archer testified \u200cfollowing the interview.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;New York Rep. Dan Goldman,\u2063 who was representing Democrats inside the room, told reporters after the interview that Archer\u2062 testified that Hunter sold the &#8216;illusion of access&#8217; to his father,&#8221; the Associated Press reported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hunter Biden Sold &#8216;Illusion&#8217; of Access to His Father, Former Associate Testifies,&#8221; <em>Time<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6299978\/hunter-biden-devon-archer-testimony-access\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">headlined\u2064 its piece<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hunter Biden associate describes &#8216;illusion of access,'&#8221; <em>Axios<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/07\/31\/devon-archer-testify-hunter-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>After the transcript&#8217;s release, CBS News\u2062 on Thursday <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1687164079796862990?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">admitted<\/a> \u200dthat Goldman, not Archer, used the phrase &#8220;illusion\u2064 of access.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In fact, when you look at the transcript, what you see\u2062 is that that phrase, &#8216;illusion of access,&#8217; is in Dan Goldman&#8217;s question\u2014it&#8217;s actually not what Devon Archer testified to,&#8221; senior investigative\u200c correspondent Catherine Herridge said on\u2062 air.<\/p>\n<p>Archer <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/watch-joe-biden-thanked-hunters-business-partner-in-2011-letter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">revealed<\/a> this week in an interview that Biden sent him a letter in 2011, contradicting the president&#8217;s claims that he never discussed \u200dhis son&#8217;s business dealings.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I apologize for not\u2064 getting a chance to\u200b talk to you at the luncheon yesterday. \u2026 I hope I get \u2064a chance\u2062 to see you again soon with Hunter. I hope you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-joe-biden-thanked-hunters-business-partner-in-2011-letter\/\" title=\"VIDEO: Joe Biden Expresses Gratitude to Hunter's Associate in 2011 Note\">enjoyed lunch<\/a>. Thanks for coming,&#8221; then-vice president Biden \u2062wrote to Archer. A\u2062 handwritten portion reads, &#8220;P.S. Happy you guys are together.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The letter stands in \u2062contrast to Joe Biden&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reminder-the-presidential-debate-commission-worked-to-hide-joe-bidens-foreign-policy-from-voters\/\" title=\"Reminder: The Presidential Debate Commission Worked To Hide Joe Biden\u2019s Foreign Policy From Voters\">long-held claims<\/a> he had nothing to do with Hunter Biden&#8217;s business.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having \u200bto do with their\u200d businesses, period,&#8221; Joe Biden\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/watch-bidens-claims-about-hunter-fall-apart\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> in August 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Archer also\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/hunter-biden-called-dc-to-get-ukraine-prosecutor-fired-for-burisma-his-ex-business-partner-reportedly-testifies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the House \u200bOversight \u200bCommittee\u200b that\u200b Hunter \u2062Biden called his father \u2063more than 20 times during business meetings to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/devon-archer-testimony-house-oversight-james-comer-hunter-biden-joe-biden-8bc222ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sell<\/a> the Biden &#8220;brand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dem Rep.
